Kurtosis is looking to add to our founding engineering team as we aim to solve the hardest problems in distributed systems development, remodeling the development workflow in web3 and blockchain completely.

We provide developer tools that fundamentally change the way blockchain technology is built by giving engineers complete control over their development and testing environments.

The history of software development is abstraction layers over abstraction layers: assembly code is built over 0’s and 1’s, and C is built over assembly code. Kurtosis is the next layer of abstraction needed to effectively develop decentralized systems, built on top of tooling like Docker and Kubernetes.

As a Lead Software Engineer at Kurtosis you will:

• Be a part of the founding engineering team that builds features which will deliver lasting value to new customers
• Design and implement complex, distributed platforms in Golang (experience in another industry standard is fine, we’ll teach Go)
• Work with our founders to design Kurtosis’ architecture and technology radmap
• Build stable and scalable architecture, understanding the tradeoffs between consistency, durability, and costs to build solutions to meet the evolution of a rapidly growing platform
• Follow SRE principles to consistently deliver the Kurtosis platform in a reliable manner
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and continually improve the platform
• Lead a growing team of engineers and collaborate with them during PR’s and Code Reviews

About You:

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting large scale distributed systems
• 2+ years of lead experience
• Systems programming experience skills including multi-threading, concurrency etc.
• Strong CS fundamentals with an appetite for learning
• Collaborative teammate, willing to roll up your sleeves and use instinct to get things done the right way
• Passionate about building better tooling for fellow developers
