About Helius

Helius is a leading developer platform on the Solana blockchain, dedicated to inspiring and accelerating the creation of crypto-powered software. Customers like Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom use Helius to power their applications on Solana.

We’ve raised over $34m from Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, Foundation Capital, 6th Man Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Chapter One and angel investors including Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal, and Balaji Srinivasan. Our team members have previously built mission-critical, scalable infrastructure at AWS, Coinbase, Stripe, Google, Digital Ocean, and more.

Read our Helius Manifesto to see how we work and what we value.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead Full-stack Engineer to spearhead the overhaul of our product experience and monetization systems. You’ll be in the driver’s seat architecting, designing, and implementing systems that directly influence our product, revenue, and customer impact.

This is not a narrow-scope engineering role. You’ll own systems from front to back that, in most companies, would span across multiple teams. From day one, you’ll have the mandate—and the runway—to level up our engineering stack.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, breadth, and the challenge of building foundational infrastructure at startup speed. You'll work directly with the founders, product owners, and your team to deliver mission-critical features with immediate user and business impact.

You’ll also be leading a fast-growing team, and depending on your goals, you’ll have a clear path toward either Staff+ IC roles or Engineering Leadership.

This is a remote position (North America) reporting to Chief Technology Officer, giving you high visibility and influence across the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and optimize complex systems that span across the frontend (Next, React, TypeScript) and the backend (AWS, TypeScript, Go)
  • Integrate complex backend systems (billing, monetization, product enablement) into customer-facing applications
  • Collaborate directly with founders and product owners to translate requirements into well-architected solutions
  • Optimize application performance across the entire stack
  • Drive technical decisions around frontend architecture, state management, and API design
  • Influence our technical roadmap, provide mentorship and help build a strong engineering culture
  • Step outside of your role as needed to close gaps and keep product development moving fast
  • Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability across the stack

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience in production environments
  • Strong frontend experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript (2+ years)
  • Senior-level backend experience with Go, TypeScript, or similar languages (3+ years)
  • Experience building and scaling APIs (REST or GraphQL).
  • Experience with database design and optimization
  • Strong system design and architecture skills
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, execute at speed, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Track record of mentoring other engineers and improving team processes
  • Ability to thrive in a high-velocity startup and work across teams

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building or maintaining billing/monetization systems.
  • Previous startup and/or web3 experience
  • Familiarity with Rust or low-level systems (we’ll train you where needed)
  • Solana development experience
  • Understanding of web security best practices

Why Helius?

  • High-impact work: Your code will power applications used by millions across the Solana ecosystem, including Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom.
  • Cutting-edge tech: Build with React, Next.js, Go, and web3 systems - plus get hands-on exposure to Rust and blockchain infrastructure.
  • Ownership & growth: Lead critical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence architecture from day one.
  • Remote-first flexibility: Work where you’re most productive, with flexible hours and a fully distributed team.
  • Competitive comp & perks: Market-leading salary, meaningful equity, generous vacation, wellness budgets, and support for learning and travel.
  • Mission-driven team: Join ambitious builders who move fast, take ownership, and are shaping the future of decentralized apps.

What does a full stack developer in web3 do?

A full stack web3 developer is a developer who has expertise in the full stack of technologies that are used to build web3 applications

These applications use the decentralized, distributed nature of the web3 network to provide users with a secure and decentralized way of accessing and interacting with online services and applications. The responsibilities of a full stack web3 developer will vary depending on the specific project and the needs of the team they are working with

In general, though, a full stack web3 developer will be responsible for: designing and building the front-end and back-end of web3 applications, as well as implementing and maintaining the underlying blockchain infrastructure

This will often involve working with a variety of different technologies and programming languages, such as Solidity for smart contract development, JavaScript and HTML for front-end development, and various blockchain protocols and frameworks. Additionally, a full stack web3 developer may also be responsible for working with the web3 community to help drive adoption and integration of web3 technologies, as well as staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and contributing to the broader web3 ecosystem.
