We’re hiring a founding Engineer @ VenturePunk, an early-stage web3 product studio. It’s a unique opportunity to work with a proven founder and get on the ground floor of a seed-stage startup building multiple projects in crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse. This role is fully remote.
About VenturePunk
- VenturePunk is what’s known as a startup studio or product builder. We’re a company that works to build several different companies or products in rapid succession. We use the same internal team and resources to efficiently crank out as many experiments as possible using proven processes to ideate, validate, get traction, and then scale new ventures.
- We're passionate about NFT communities, collector tools, web3 games, DeFi, decentralized social media, DAOs, creator monetization, CC0, and many other areas.
- Founded by Jordan Lyall, a product-focused builder with a long history in the crypto and NFT space. Previously, he served as CPO and Co-Founder of Nifty's Inc, an NFT platform for community engagement and the $MEME Project, an early experimental NFT protocol in 2020.
About the Role
- As our first Full Stack Engineer you'll help us create our innovation engine, a process to quickly experiment with multiple ideas at once.
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to understand business needs
- Work jointly with frontend, QA and devOps all along the software development lifecycle from the writeup of technical specifications in the form of RFCs, to feature development and testing.
- Own, develop and maintain services that power Web3 experiences.Integrating 3rd party APIs and multiple blockchain networks into our platform.
- Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability scalable applicationsWrite reusable, testable, and efficient code
- Create optimized database schemas
- Mentoring of engineers and contribution to hiring
Requirements
- 4+ years of full-stack software development experience working on production-grade projects or startups

Mastery of one of the following disciplines:
- Back-end development: Python/Typescript / Node.js
- Front-end development: React.js
Experience with, or understanding of: PostgreSQL
Experience with using collaboration tools and operating in a remote first environment
Experience working on agile projects
Experience working in CI/CD setup
Experience with developing APIs and microservices architectures
Understanding of blockchain technology, especially Ethereum
Blockchain / smart contract development: Solidity / Ethereum, Web3.js or Ethers.js library
DevOps experience with Docker and deploying in the cloud
Experience in deploying blockchain infrastructure
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
Teamwork, flexibility, initiative, communication and organization
Willingness to constantly learn & improve, challenging yourself to stay at the top of your game
