We’re seeking a passionate Research Engineer to join our Incubator team and help drive bleeding edge blockchain innovation. As a Research Engineer, you will play a pivotal role of an R&D generalist, taking ownership of various research, development, and deployment initiatives. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Deep understanding blockchain technology, covering areas like (but not limited to): consensus mechanisms, optimized transaction processing, Ethereum execution layer client improvements, etc.
  • Design, develop, and deploy experimental proof of concept architecture for applications and solutions, with a particular focus on scaling technologies and complex integrations
  • Execute end-to-end smart contract and infrastructure-related functionality deployments, including configuration of CI/CD pipelines and management of Docker components
  • Read, interact with, and efficiently streamline open source code interactions
  • Stay on top of innovation trends and produce feasible technical roadmaps in close cross-sectorial collaboration with engineering and product departments

Requirements and needed skills:
 

  • Mandatory deep understanding of cryptography, consensus algorithms, blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts.
  • Demonstrated expertise and interest in zero-knowledge and/or scaling technologies like Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, etc.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency with Golang, Python, and Django
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Helm, and automated testing frameworks
  • Ability to efficiently analyze and interpret complex code
  • Strongly resonating engineering curiosity and passion for experimentation
  • Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and diligently produce deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to transfer knowledge in a seamless and engaging manner

Nice to have:
 

  • Active involvement and contributions to open-source developer communities
  • Experience developing and optimizing fundamental blockchain infrastructure
  • Experience with and/or interest in DevSecOps
  • Experience working in fast-paced, remote-first startup environments
  • Demonstrated passion for research and education
