These experiences all integrate together to form one avatar social network, Genies Party. Genies is looking for an Research Scientist Intern to join us at our Bay Area office in San Mateo CA, you will work closely with a dedicated and talented team of Engineers and Researchers. In this role, you'll be diving into the innovative intersection of LLM, data and gaming. Your role will be instrumental in developing a cutting-edge system, underpinned by advanced LLM, to unlock new dimensions of designer and player interaction. We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating high-quality visuals and has the technical foundation to help us build the next wave of data analysis and game playing experience. Our internship program has a minimum duration of 12 weeks, with flexible start dates available throughout the year. What You’ll be Doing:
Contribute to real-world products by researching and developing LLM-driven solutions and pipelines aimed at transforming decision making through comprehensive analysis and strategic insights. Design evaluations and perform both controlled experiments and observational analyses to assess system effectiveness. Absorb machine learning literature, particularly in natural language processing, and quickly prototype new techniques by engaging with relevant research papers and textbooks. Explore the feasibility of productization, identifying issues and gaps that may lead to direct production implementations or inspire new research directions for publication.
What You Should Have:Â Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. Minimum 12 weeks internship. 40 hours per week is strongly preferred with hybrid onsite arrangement. Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and recent natural language processing techniques. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face). Ability to conduct research and prototype solutions based on academic literature. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in developing LLM-driven solutions and pipelines through publications on venus including: ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI and etc. Deep understanding of and experience with the latest natural language processing techniques. Demonstrated solid software development skills through ML/NLP projects Hands-on experience working with LLMs and familiarity with popular prompt methods such as chain-of-thought, and graph-of-thought. Experience with SQL/Code generation for data analysis
