About The Role 🤔:
Immutable strives to bring a seamless gaming experience to web3 gamers in pursuit of true digital ownership of in-game assets. Alongside our recently released Immutable zkEVM chain, we have launched Checkout, a set of easily embeddable products that allows game developers to smoothly guide their players through the previously difficult flows of Swapping, Bridging, Onramping and Purchasing.
This role on the Commerce team is all about driving forward the first hit games launching on Immutable zkEVM. Our partner games will have the highest chance of success if their players’ purchasing and trading experiences are frictionless. We deliver and iterate on consumer-facing products such as Checkout and work closely with games to iterate on our offering and ensure they can launch their games with a high-quality Checkout experience.
We create truly innovative experiences, overcoming the technical hurdles native to Blockchain technologies and delivering a familiar purchasing experience. The problems we work on don’t have existing answers or competitors to look to for ideas. We build, measure, learn and iterate to ensure our products are the best in the market.

You’ll Be Empowered To 🎮:
- Enhance the developer experience of Checkout to ensure that there are no hurdles to game studios wanting to build with Immutable
- Design and implement high-performance systems that allow game studios to sell millions of dollars of assets during a big game launch
- Integrate on-chain features such as wallet connections, transaction submission, smart contract development and deployment
- Own the reporting of data from products and conduct analysis to identify areas of future iteration
- Gain exposure working in a Web3 development environment, including regular workshops and learning opportunities for blockchain development
- Be part of a collaborative team environment
- Work in an experimental environment, learning from customer feedback and iterating on products
- Work closely with your team members to ensure operational excellence for the services your team owns
- Continually work with your team to iterate on ways of working
We'd Love You To Bring 🤝:
- Expertise in either Go or Typescript is highly desirable
- Candidates with extensive experience in other Backend languages such as Java or Kotlin should also be considered
- The ability to write clean, efficient, testable and maintainable code is essential.
- Confidence in owning CI/CD workflows
- Extensive experience with cloud-based deployments and associated monitoring (AWS lambda, SQS, eventbridge, RDS, Docker, New Relic monitoring)
- I have a track record of moving the needle in high-pressure environments
- Previous experience working in high-velocity teams with broad domain ownership is critical
- Fast decision-making and being comfortable and confident enough to move quickly
- Ability to design scalable and robust system architectures, making informed decisions about data modelling, API design, and the overall structure of the backend systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A passion for working collaboratively as a team, with extensive experience with pair programming
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and services
