We are currently looking for a veteran data engineer to join us as Staff Data Engineer and lead our new data engineering team to take over and improve upon our existing data pipelines. As a Staff Data Engineer at Kronos, you will have the opportunity to learn about how data drives success in the heart of the quantitative trading industry. Successful candidates must have experience designing and building data pipelines and data warehouses from scratch, leveraging various on-premise and/or cloud-based technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain new generation of data pipelines and warehouse solutions to augment and upgrade our existing data pipelines
- Develop solutions to easily import and integrate data from 3rd party data vendor and exchange private endpoints into our existing data inventory
- Deploy and manage daily operation of our C++ market data loggers and ensure data is stored efficiently and securely across cloud and on-premise solutions (S3/NAS/DFS)
- Work closely with Infra team and quant researchers to set up and maintain data pipelines that prepare raw market data for machine learning research and simulations
- Design and develop tools and interfaces that improve quality, integrity, and availability for all of our data
- Recruit, lead and mentor a new team of data engineers on technical solutions and architectural designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Must be proficient in Python and SQL
- Strong experience designing architecture and building robust, scalable, and reliable cloud-native software
- Strong experience with building large scale data infrastructure solutions from ground-up
- Experience with a number of the following: Gitlab / GCP / AWS / Docker / EC2 / ECS / Lambda / S3 / Jenkins / Grafana / NoSQL / MySQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- English resume acceptable only
