As stewards of the Polkadot and Substrate ecosystem, Parity is laying the foundation for a better web—one that respects individual freedom and data, and empowers developers to build better services through decentralised technology. The internet is too important to billions of people for it to be at the mercy of a few powerful companies.

With a remote-first, global team, Parity is building open-source technologies for developers and organisations to implement and build upon. Our Web3 tech stack includes Polkadot, Substrate, and Kusama.

We believe in a decentralised web that respects individual freedom and data, enabling developers to create groundbreaking services. Our mission? To make Polkadot the most active and innovative community in blockchain.

People in Our Collective Are:

  • Highly motivated to contribute to Parity’s mission and be part of something bigger

  • Excited to work on projects that are groundbreaking and complex

  • Autonomous workers who self-initiate but also collaborate well

  • Accountable and low-ego team players

  • Comfortable adapting to the ever-changing Web3 space

  • Continuously learning about Parity and the wider ecosystem

About the Team:

At Parity Technologies, we’re redefining how the world interacts with Polkadot. Our greenfield Mobile App team is on a mission to build the most seamless, secure, and cutting-edge digital wallet experience across web and native platforms. If you thrive on innovation, enjoy pushing boundaries, and want to shape the future of decentralised finance—this is your chance!

About the Position:

Picture this: You’re leading the charge in crafting a next-gen digital wallet—one that’s intuitive, secure, and lightning-fast. This isn’t just another app; it’s the gateway for users to interact with Polkadot and the decentralised world beyond.

  • Architect & Build – Design and develop a fluid, high-performance Android wallet that empowers users to manage crypto assets effortlessly.

  • Bridge Web2 and Web3 – Ensure a seamless transition between traditional fintech experiences and decentralised technologies.

  • Innovate & Optimise – Solve challenges like gas fee optimisations, cross-chain transactions, and zero-trust security models.

  • Create Beautiful UX – Build smooth, intuitive interfaces that make crypto adoption easy.

  • Stay Cutting-Edge – Implement the latest blockchain SDKs, cryptographic security measures, and real-time transaction tracking.

  • Collaborate Globally – Work with engineers, product managers, and the wider blockchain community to push the limits of what’s possible.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Solid experience in Android development with Kotlin.

  • Strong expertise in Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and MVVM architecture.

  • Deep understanding of mobile security, encryption, and secure data storage.

  • Experience working with REST APIs, WebSockets, and real-time data handling.

  • Passion for blockchain technology and Web3, or a strong willingness to learn.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with crypto wallets, DeFi applications, or blockchain-based projects.

  • Contributions to open-source Android or Web3 projects.

  • Knowledge of cryptographic principles, Ethereum, or the Polkadot ecosystem.

If you’re excited about building the next generation of Web3 applications on Android, we’d love to hear from you!

About working for us:

  • Competitive remuneration packages based on iterative market research, including tokens (where legally possible)

  • “Future of work” environment that’s remote-first and self-initiating with flexible hours

  • Team mates that are genuinely excited about their impact and projects

  • Access to the brightest minds in this space to learn about Web3 and develop your skills and knowledge while on the job

  • Becoming part of the wider ecosystem (career and networking opportunities)

  • Team and company-wide retreats

  • Work laptop

Those joining our collective as an employee in Germany, Portugal, Switzerland and the U.K. also enjoy benefits such as health care, parental leave, PTO (28 days per year), local team events, yearly L&D budget, and language classes.

Is Kotlin a good career?

Yes, Kotlin is a good career choice for developers who want to work in the Android app development, backend development, or cross-platform development space

Kotlin is a modern programming language that was designed to improve upon some of the shortcomings of Java, making it more concise, safe, and interoperable with other languages

Here are some reasons why Kotlin is a good career choice:

  1. High Demand: Kotlin is in high demand in the technology industry, especially in the Android app development space. Many companies are now using Kotlin to develop their Android apps, and the demand for Kotlin developers is growing rapidly.
  2. Compatibility: Kotlin is interoperable with Java, which means that developers can use both languages in the same project. This makes it easy for developers to migrate from Java to Kotlin and vice versa, and it also makes it easier to integrate Kotlin into existing Java-based projects.
  3. Easy to Learn: Kotlin is relatively easy to learn for developers who are already familiar with Java or other similar programming languages. Kotlin has a simpler syntax than Java, making it easier to read and write code.
  4. Concise and Safe: Kotlin is a more concise language than Java, which means that developers can write less code to achieve the same functionality. Additionally, Kotlin has built-in null safety features that help developers avoid common errors and bugs.
  5. Career Growth: Kotlin is a relatively new language, which means that there is a lot of room for growth and innovation. Developers who are proficient in Kotlin have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the language and its ecosystem, which can lead to career growth and advancement.
