BitSight is looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team. We pride ourselves in building exceptional career opportunities and offering outstanding benefits to our team. We have the enthusiasm of a start-up but the structure and solidity of a mature industry leader.
BitSight’s mission is to make the online world a safer place by helping governments, companies and NGOs understand and mitigate their cybersecurity risks. Ours is an internet-scale challenge - we track every IP address, every piece of malware, and a good portion of the world’s internet traffic.
Our team works on distributed, highly scalable solutions for BitSight’s cyber security products. We are looking for talented software engineers that embrace the challenge of providing solutions to large problems and want to construct the foundation that the engineering team will use for the next 3-5 years. We offer an opportunity to make a unique impact, not just as an individual but on the entire engineering team
Apart from domain skills, what we truly value are strong generalists: those with the critical thinking skills to use a variety of technologies and languages and pick up new concepts when needed. Strong collaboration skills are a must. We offer an opportunity to make a unique impact, not just as an individual but on the entire engineering team.
Requirements
- 3+ years working with modern Javascript (ES6+) and significant experience with at least one modern web framework (React, Vue, Svelte, etc.)
- Holistic engineering & ownership, from design to deployment and onwards.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in design, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience working with a team of engineers, designers, and product owners in delivering a product to end-users
- Excellent (English) written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with React
- Experience with web development build systems: Yarn/NPM, Webpack
- Experience with microservices architectures, APIs, and related technologies;
- Experience with CI/CD and Kubernetes
What does a React developer in web3 do?
A React developer in the context of web3 is a developer who is using the React JavaScript library to build user interfaces for decentralized applications (dApps) that run on the Ethereum blockchain
These dApps often use smart contracts to facilitate transactions and other interactions on the Ethereum network
Overall, the role of a React developer in web3 involves using your skills in React development to help build cutting-edge decentralized applications that leverage the power of the Ethereum blockchain
As a React developer in web3, some of your responsibilities might include:
- Integrating the dApp with the Ethereum blockchain. This might involve using tools like web3.js and Ethers.js to connect to the Ethereum network and interact with smart contracts.
- Building the user interface for a dApp using React. This could involve creating components for the various elements of the dApp, such as buttons, forms, and other input elements.
- Implementing features that are specific to decentralized applications, such as handling cryptocurrency transactions and displaying data from the blockchain in a user-friendly way.
- Collaborating with other members of the development team, such as blockchain engineers and designers, to ensure that the dApp functions properly and meets the needs of the end users.
