We are looking for a Lead Quantitative Analyst / Economist to lead protocol economics, assist product architecture, develop risk models, and support the team with data-based insights.
You will assist the product team in creating innovative financial solutions that are composable with key partners and other protocols in DeFi. As Economist, you will regularly lead the recalibration of protocol financial economics (e.g. interest rate model optimization, token emissions, etc.) and build and manage a new market risk model. You'll be expected to create and present protocol assessment reports and work closely with product, marketing, and C-level leadership.
Your Responsibilities
Create robust financial models and analytics dashboards to support the product development effort as well as evaluate feature performance
Design custom-made financial products composable with various DeFi protocols
Utilize data science (both on-chain and off-chain) to discover actionable insights for the protocol
Oversee the token’s economics and treasury investments
Develop a robust risk management process for all the lending and borrowing pools on the platform
Act as a quantitative liaison to external stakeholders and communicate key metrics to financial teams
Support the creation and execution of the overall protocol strategy with data-driven insights and quantitative data
Skills & Qualifications
Strong interest in crypto and fintech
Engineering / math / finance background
3+ years working in a hedge fund, investment bank, other trading firm, or a DeFi protocol
3+ years experience with SQL, Python (data science libraries), JupyterHub, etc.
Advanced Excel (Google Sheets) skills for prototyping data models
A solid understanding or interest in lending and borrowing financial products
Strong knowledge of statistics
Experience with stochastic modeling, dynamical systems, and/or game theory
Understanding of incentive mechanisms and their impact on tokenomics models
Demonstrable interest and knowledge of key blockchain and consensus protocols, including advantages, disadvantages, and tradeoffs of various technical and crypto-economic system designs
Demonstrated ability to design and execute a research agenda
Collaborative and able and willing to work in a remote-first environment
Good to have
Experience with DeFi architecture
Experience with Solidity / EVM
Experience with crypto trading
Experience with GraphQL / subgraphs
Experience with cadCAD / systems modeling
Understanding of cross-chain architectures and vulnerabilities
