Ā Job descriptionĀ

The primary purpose of this position is to provide operational support to the ComplianceĀ department.Ā 

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Chief AMLĀ Compliance Officer.Ā 

The role is multi-functional and requires excellent communication skills and proficiency inĀ research, report and policy writing. Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terroristĀ financing and international sanctions, and the concept of risk assessment is a requisite,Ā supported by demonstrated critical thinking ability.Ā

The ideal incumbent will be creative and have an interest in, if not a passion for understandingĀ blockchain technology and the concept of financial inclusion and freedom; an understanding ofĀ the concept of Bitcoin and stablecoins is an advantage.Ā

This is a unique opportunity to learn and receive training in many aspects of compliance in theĀ blockchain, specifically the crypto environment and learn from the best.Ā 

Ā 

ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Managing the Compliance Diary including scheduling mandatory regulatory reportingĀ and registrations and meetings with the Board and Senior ManagementĀ 

  • Coordinating compliance-related meetings with relevant stakeholders including variousĀ committee members and where applicable, keeping minutes of such meetingsĀ 

  • Coordinating mandatory and ongoing training requirements and deliveries and inĀ conjunction with compliance officers and managers drafting training materialsĀ 

  • In liaison with other internal team members and stakeholders such as the BusinessĀ Development and Onboarding Teams, conducting research into new product and serviceĀ areas, technological compliance solutions, country-specific applicable compliance lawsĀ and regulationsĀ 

  • Monitoring relevant regulatory websites, news and alerts including FATF Country RiskĀ Updates and media in respect of adverse news and maintaining a tracker of pertinentĀ Bitfinex Internal changesĀ 

  • Drafting reports of important regulatory and legal updates in pertinent countriesĀ 

  • Drafting presentations for a variety of compliance mattersĀ 

  • Managing the Policy management application and drafting new policies and proceduresĀ 

  • Acting as the coordination point and providing excellent and timely customer service toĀ internal and external stakeholdersĀ 

  • Assisting with governance practices in respect of Policy and Procedure updates


  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills proficiency

  • The ability to think critically and proactively to solve problems

  • Basic knowledge or above of AML, CTF and Sanctions requirements and familiarity with the FATF Guidelines and /or European or regional equivalents

  • Superb organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Office Products and Adobe

  • Excellent knowledge of the G Suite (incl. Google Sheets, Docs, Calendar etc.)

  • The ability to work flexibly across different time zones

  • A willingness to learn

  • English as a primary language, proficiency in a second language is an advantage, particularly Spanish and/or Portuguese and/or Turkish.

  • Location in the Central European Time Zone

  • Some international travel maybe required
