Okcoin is seeking a Director of Research to join us on this quest to make crypto accessible to everyone.
As the Director of UX Research, you’ll shape the company's business and product strategy by delivering insights that allow us to define and build valuable products and features. You will lead the UX Research team to establish critical insights about our users, define research methodologies, influence our product strategy and roadmap, drive human-centered product innovation and evolution, and cultivate a human-centered culture across the organization. You will report to the Head of Experience and partner closely with cross-functional leaders in Product, Data, Marketing, and Finance to build strong distributed research systems that empower the whole company to connect with our customers.
What You’ll Achieve
- Lead, grow, and develop a team of qualitative and quantitative researchers focused on both market (customer) and experience (user)
- Lead the team to creatively execute research initiatives with insights directly impacting and influencing product strategy and design
- Prioritize user insights and opportunities, representing these insights at the highest levels of the organization and ensuring the needs of our users are part of every product and design conversation
- Collaborate with Product Insights, Market Intelligence, Marketing, Product Management, Design, and Engineering to synthesize a clear picture of our opportunities and challenges
- Maintain robust relationships with UX Research organizations to define and execute against cross-product research opportunities, and develop long-term product strategies based on user insights
- Help expand into new markets with primary field research as well as secondary research
What We Look For In You
- 8+ years' experience researching digital products and systems
- 5+ years' experience managing teams of researchers, having built a research discipline from the ground up, at scale
- You have experience conducting quality, high-impact, mixed methods research in global markets and have contributed to innovative, successful products with global user bases
- You have partnered with marketing and product and are experienced leading field research expeditions
- You are product-centric, you think about the value of research in terms of product development and outcomes
- You have great communication skills and a collaborative approach. You’re a great partner to others and your cross-functional teammates and you are skilled at creating user understanding and empathy across an organization
- You have experience partnering closely with senior leadership, including C-suite executives and managing senior level researchers
- You are capable of coaching and directing researchers and you inspire team members to do their best work in change, ambiguity, and complexity
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working in FinTech and/or Crypto
- Fluency in Mandarin
- An existing familiarity with market research and UX research methodologies, terminology, processes, etc.
- PhD or Master degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
