Who We Are:

We are building a novel programmable automated market maker (AMM) protocol to automate liquidity provision and disrupt the opaque crypto market making industry.

You'll be building with us at the 0-to-1 stage to architect and launch the product for our first users.

Responsibilities:

As a Founding Engineer, you’ll be work in a small team to help bring the product to life.

We are building on top of Starknet, a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, so knowledge of the ecosystem is preferred. Otherwise, you should be a strong engineer with experience building from 0 to 1 on top of other web3 stacks.

You will:

  • Build and maintain the backend infrastructure to support a performant user experience (indexer, microservices, DB, API)
  • Build out a Typescript SDK for interacting with the smart contracts
  • Build clean, maintainable React components to convert designer mockups into performant frontend UIs
  • Own the developmental process to ensure smooth CI/CD
  • Optionally, contribute to the development of the core and periphery smart contracts
Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a web3-related role
  • Experience with both frontend (Typescript, React, NodeJS) and backend (PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, GraphQL)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A strong interest in web3 and Blockchain technology
  • Experience delivering 0 to 1 projects with significant ownership of outputs
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly autonomous, with the ability to manage others in the future as we scale our team
We’re a remote company but prefer to hire from Europe so we can collaborate during the same working hours. If you're based in London, that's a welcome bonus so we can jam together IRL.

What does a back-end developer in Web3 do?

A back-end developer in web3 typically works on the server-side of a web application, using technologies that are specific to the decentralized web (also known as Web3-related)

This might involve building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports decentralized applications (dApps), or developing the underlying smart contracts and blockchain-based systems that power those dApps

In general, the goal of a back-end developer in web3 is to create the technologies and tools that enable users to interact with the decentralized web in a secure and seamless way.
