As an Onboarding Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing account openings, conducting due diligence checks, and providing advice to various business functions. Your main objective will be to ensure compliance with internal policies and AML/KYC requirements, while also identifying opportunities for onboarding process improvement to mitigate compliance risks.
The role will support our APAC onboarding requirements and reports to the CEO/Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Conducting client due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (ECDD) in accordance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines
- Provide high-quality customer service by owning, monitoring, and improving customer service, handling customer inquiries, managing communications with customers throughout the entire onboarding process;
- Involvement in account acceptance/reviews, account opening procedures, distribution, and closing account procedures;
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to customer onboarding and account administration;
- Participate in internal and external training programs related to AML/CFT and other subjects that may form part of the day to day work requirements
- Handle ad hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and an advanced degree or certification
- 2-3 years of experience in the financial services sector or handling end-to-end onboarding of new/existing customer accounts; knowledge and experience in collection of Know Your Customer (“KYC”) information and managing the customer onboarding would be an advantage.
- Highly effective verbal and written communications
- Strong customer service skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organized with work tools like emails, spreadsheets, databases
- Extremely high sense of urgency when servicing external and internal clients
- Analytical skills, positive attitude, listening and problem-solving skills
