Director Business Development

CoinDesk is looking for an expert in digital video business development and content distribution to manage the growth of partnerships and syndication and to explore new platforms. As CoinDesk increases overall content production to reach a broader audience beyond crypto natives, we aim to reach the widest possible audience through licensing and partnerships.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Business Development, the Director of BD will be a key player in the growth of the company. The Director will identify new business opportunities and manage relationships across various external and internal partners. We will identify opportunities to increase distribution across digital video platforms and aggregators, OTT platforms, and traditional channels.

Role

  • Drive engagement and revenue through licensing and distribution of CoinDesk content across digital, OTT, and publisher platforms
  • Manage and optimize distribution partnerships by maintaining ongoing relationships and dialogue partner and CoinDesk initiatives in order to uncover new opportunities to expand presence on platforms
  • Assist with other BD functions such as news licensing, event business development, research and product development
  • Identify new content formats via informed analysis and work with internal teams to develop business cases
  • Collaborate with team leadership and internal partners to structure deal terms, negotiate, implement, and run deals with existing and new platform partners
  • Responsible for the day-to-day internal operations for external partners – including operationalizing closed deals, partnership management, presenting product updates, assisting with strategy development, revenue growth, and troubleshooting platform issues

Qualifications

  • 6 years experience including combination of video distribution and partner optimization
  • Experience with and contacts at major OTT platforms
  • Demonstrated capacity for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Proven business development acumen
  • Relevant experience in both distribution and production
  • Entrepreneurial capacity for working collaboratively across teams to accomplish goals, roll up your sleeves and be ready for anything in a fast growing company
  • Understanding of business and finance; basic understanding of crypto/blockchain sector with a drive to learn more
  • Pre-existing relationships with key social platforms
  • Strong understanding of the digital advertising business
  • Self-starter who will energetically advance the team’s business goals
  • Management skills with strong negotiation & contract skills
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while handling complex issues
