About Petal
Petal is building the bridge between crypto and traditional markets: awallet-first brokeragewhere users can deposit USDC and access U.S. equities through a regulated brokerage, with instant settlement and withdrawals. Our mission is to unlock compliant access to capital markets for on-chain capital — whales, DAOs, funds, and institutions. We’ve raised $1.5M in pre-seed funding and are preparing to launch our V1 product in stealth with early whales and KOLs.
The Role
We’re hiring aHead of Business Developmentto own Petal’s external-facing growth efforts. Alongside the executive team, you'll help design and execute our BD strategy, secure LOIs from whales, KOLs, DAOs, and crypto-native funds, and build the partnerships that will drive adoption and liquidity at launch.
You’ll work directly with the Founder and leadership team (CFO, CTO, CMO, GC, CCO) and serve as the tip of the spear in bringing high-value users and partners onto Petal.
Responsibilities
- Deal-making:Lead outbound and inbound BD with whales, DAOs, and institutional funds holding USDC; secure signed LOIs and commitments ahead of launch.
- Relationship Management:Own and deepen relationships with crypto-native market participants, KOLs, and strategic partners.
- Strategy:Build and execute the GTM/BD strategy alongside the Founder and Growth team, including incentive design and partnership structures.
- Pipeline:Maintain a disciplined pipeline of target whales and funds; use CRM rigor to track outreach, follow-ups, and close rate.
- Market Development:Identify ecosystem partnerships (custody, OTC, compliance, DeFi protocols) that strengthen Petal’s position.
- Narrative Support:Collaborate with CMO and Head of Growth to ensure Petal’s messaging resonates with whales and institutions.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years in BD, partnerships, or capital markets roles (crypto exchange, DeFi protocol, prime brokerage, fintech, or trading firm).
- Proven ability to close high-value deals and manage institutional relationships.
- Deep network in crypto-native capital markets: whales, DAOs, KOLs, funds.
- Comfort working in an early-stage startup: self-directed, execution-oriented, resilient.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills; able to tailor pitch to whales, funds, and institutions.
- Bonus: Experience bridging TradFi + crypto; understanding of compliance, custody, and brokerage structures.
