About the role

We are looking for an Business Development Manager in charge of converting key bank and asset management prospects into billable clients. You will be responsible for establishing viable business cases to service the digital asset needs of banks and asset managers. In this role, you will leverage your passion for client service, understanding of the internal workings of financial institutions to strategically develop accounts, assisting traditional financial institutions entering into a new digital asset class. The role will be based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The broader team you will join is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, prospect conversion, and the growth and servicing of institutional and professional client relationships. Target clients are primarily banks and asset managers interested in establishing and growing their own digital asset offerings. Our services offered include digital asset trading, custody, staking and tokenisation.

This role is focused specifically on refining business opportunities and bedding down contractual relationships with late-stage prospects and clients. The Business Development Manager develops strong ties within large organisations to strengthen client relationships, monitors developments in the market, and anticipates client needs to offer required services.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategically develop key accounts, ensuring prospective clients can make optimal use of Crypto Finance’s products and services
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to convert late-stage prospects into clients, prioritise efforts to anticipate and ensure appropriate responses to prospect needs
  • Develop strong ties within large organisations to strengthen client relationships and strong business relationships and facilitate cross-selling
  • Responding to requests for proposal from institutional clients
  • Further develop presence in the market by attending conferences, understanding the regulatory developments, and building a strong institutional and professional prospect network
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments of the organisation, including Compliance, Trading, Operations, and Legal
  • Maintain an expert level of understanding of the trading and custody platforms, as well as other products, in order to provide knowledgeable support to prospective clients
  • Maintain an expert level of understanding of the digital asset market landscape
  • Take a systematic approach to relationship management, including maintaining appropriate client account documentation
  • Update and maintain the CRM for accurate recordkeeping of all relationships
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and restrictions
  • A motivated individual with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Business Development, Sales or Account Management for institutional clients or similar function at a financial institution or technology company
  • A passion for blockchain technology and digital assets, including the crypto asset market
  • Relevant university degree, e.g., Business Administration, Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and a team player
  • Highly proactive and outgoing personality
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in combination with a hands-on mentality
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple ad hoc projects simultaneously
  • Solid MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and fast adaption of new tools required
  • Proficient level of written and spoken English; German is strongly preferred
