PLN Marketplace Startup Operator

Protocol Labs drives breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward.‌ Together, we’ve successfully launched multiple web3 projects that deliver against that mission and vision, and we have ambitious goals to continue to transform and improve computing and the decentralized web.

To help projects in our network, we’re setting up a Services Marketplace to make it easier to hire services to build web3 enterprises. The Marketplace will source finance, legal, marketing, events, recruiting and other agencies that have relevant web3 experience, then make them available to the PL Network. As a startup operator in the Services Marketplace, you will play a critical role in building and scaling this marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external research to understand key needs among web3 teams in the network, and optimal delivery model.
• Define and develop the initial set of service provider verticals, sourcing 10+ highly rated service providers in each key category.
• Develop an economic model for the Marketplace, including a “use it or lose it” credit system for PLN teams.
• Develop systems and tooling for the marketplace, allowing network members to access service provider information, reviews, etc.
• Drive usage and adoption of the Marketplace by creating and implementing a marketing plan to communicate its value proposition.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback, share learnings and incorporate them into our operations.
• Scale the Marketplace through strong operations, including metrics/KPIs, systems, planning, vertical expansion, crypto-native mechanisms, etc.

You may be a fit for this role if you...

• Have 6-10 years of experience in product marketing, business operations & strategy, or management consulting.
• Have experience as a founder, especially in the web3 space.
• Have demonstrated experience working with and sourcing vendors across a variety of functions or disciplines.
• You get a kick out of aligning first principles thinking, research and data insights to achieve great results.
• Have strong problem solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Handle both complexity and ambiguity well.
• Have deep experience coordinating work across teams with different goals, especially in a global, fully distributed organization.
• Pride yourself in being a self-starter, thriving even without much direction.
