The Data Science team is responsible for providing actionable insights to the Ava Labs product org around improving the core user experience. We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with some experience owning and maintaining data pipelines. This particular role will be expected to assist with a variety of data-related products and help identify real-world insights from on-chain data.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams to identify, define, and launch strategic and operational data science initiatives to improve core user experience
  • Help design and analyze experiments to understand ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends
  • Design and build robust, scalable & reliable real-time pipelines to ingest various types of blockchain data into cloud-native databases
  • Improve Ava Labs’ products and decision-making by growing and optimizing our current data sets
  • Identify data needed for various business and engineering projects, collaborate with other engineers to create scalable solutions for ingesting and processing the required data
  • Sit at the intersection between product, marketing, engineering, and leadership to inform, influence, and help execute our product strategy

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering (advanced degrees preferred), or relevant work experience
  • Demonstrable depth of knowledge in blockchain, crypto, and DeFi (independent learning or professional)
  • 3+ years of industry experience in a data science or product analytics role
  • Proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
  • Proficiency in Golang, Spark, or Python
  • Experience building out data flows from ingestion up to simple dashboards, including stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in causal inference and advanced experimentation methods
  • Practical experience in applied statistics and data science methodologies (e.g. data modeling and predictive analytics, multivariate regression analysis, machine learning)
  • Familiar with the concepts of containerization and its management i.e. Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience with DBT modeling a plus

Salary Range: $128,400 to $160,400
