Why Us?

Guardrail.ai is a SaaS startup, at the bleeding edge of technology innovation, born in the heart of Silicon Valley! Amongst all other startups out there, what makes us different?

  • Live and field-tested product with active, happy customers: Opposed to many other early startups we have a big advantage: a product with happy customers. While many other startups sell candidates on the idea of a product, Guardrail already has it in hand. In just a few short years, we have identified clear PMF that customers are willing to pay for!
  • Strong financial position: Backed with significant funding from Haun Ventures and Coinbase, we have made a concerted effort to keep our team small and elite. This has put us in a great position to have already built a product and maintain an extremely healthy runway for the next couple of years.
  • Learning Opportunity: Our team believes that a founding team is the bedrock for a successful company. Our team members are experts in their field. Not only will you have the chance to learn from them, you will also have the chance to gain product ownership experience not possible at larger companies and contribute day 1 to the future of our company.
  • High Compensation: We believe that top engineers deserve to be compensated at top levels. Quality beats quantity and we're willing to pay for the best people and tools imaginable.

What is Guardrail?

Crypto is here to stay. Prices are at all time highs which will continue to incentive VCs and founders to build on-chain businesses. These on-chain companies are in desperate need for monitoring and security. If you want to see the magnitude of this need, check out https://rekt.news/ and see the hacks yourself. Per Certik, an auditing company, in 2024 alone $1.8 billion dollars was was lost over ~600 incidents. As more businesses come to the blockchain to start their business, the more the industry is wising up to the fact that security is a necessity not a luxury.

Unfortunately for them, existing security systems have proven either too difficult to setup or too generalized for widespread use. Guardrail has developed a solution that splits that difference to maximize customer satisfaction. Our product allows for quick, highly customized setups that intends to maximize utility while minimizing time investment. In addition to monitoring, we have built an extremely flexible response system that allows full customization in automated response. Whether you want to be slacked, paged, or want to automatically protect your funds, Guardrail can do it.

What does a Founding AI Engineer do?

AI’s role in blockchain cybersecurity is still undefined. As we advance the state of security for blockchain, you will play a critical role in shaping how AI drives workflows, user experience, and threat detection in this emerging domain.

Here’s what you’ll focus on:

  • Threat Detection Models: Develop and optimize machine learning models to detect vulnerabilities, anomalies, and malicious activity in blockchain transactions.
  • Productivity Improvement: Design AI-driven alerting systems and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making for security teams.
  • User Enablement: Build tools to simplify onboarding, testing environments, and real-time monitoring for our users.

In your day-to-day, you’ll write code—a lot of it—while also generating insights and shipping products directly to customers from week one. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team to solve real-world customer problems, ensuring your work has a tangible impact on our users and drives the future of blockchain security forward

What are the requirements to apply?

At Guardrail, we prioritize the qualities that truly matter over rigid metrics like years of experience or big-name credentials. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Passionate About AI and Software Engineering: You see AI not just as a tool but as a catalyst for innovation, particularly in the context of security.
  • Work and Communicate Effectively in a Team: You thrive in a collaborative environment, bringing out the best in your teammates and being open to feedback that helps you grow.
  • Curious and Excited About Learning: You’re eager to explore new technologies, concepts, and challenges, continually pushing your skills forward.
  • Not Afraid to Think Differently: Whether it’s proposing bold ideas, questioning assumptions, or asking the “dumb” questions, you’re unafraid to step outside the box.

We’re open to candidates with varying experience levels if you embody these characteristics. If this doesn’t sound like you, this might not be the right role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Familiarity with techniques in anomaly detection, NLP, or predictive modeling.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology or a strong interest in learning it.
  • A proven track record of building and deploying AI-driven systems in real-world settings.

If you’re passionate about AI and excited to shape its role in blockchain security, we’d love to hear from you!
