Our Production Engineering team is a global team that supports Jump’s diverse global trading infrastructure that operates across many global traditional and crypto financial markets. The team is responsible for everything from low level infrastructure to custom applications, making heavy use of both internally developed and open-source software. We are looking for someone who loves learning new cutting-edge technologies and getting their hands dirty to solve challenging technical problems. What you’ll do:Â
Help build, manage, and maintain a sophisticated validator infrastructure and tooling for one of the world’s top proprietary trading firms. Working with software that is bleeding-edge and doing interesting things (consensus algorithms, distributed systems, cryptography) which often presents challenging technical problems. Take responsibility for a wide range of on-chain infrastructure, including validators, light clients, and RPC nodes. Improve monitoring and alerting systems for crypto infrastructure which enable quick and effective problem resolution. Experiment with the newest technologies and keep abreast of new developments in the blockchain ecosystem. Reason about and improve the security properties of infrastructure. Secure key management, server hardening, intrusion detection, and security best practices are important themes. Contribute to external partnerships that directly impact Jump’s bottom line. Engagement in public forums for community awareness and knowledge transfer. Work with a globally distributed team to maintain high availability. Other duties as assigned or needed.
Skills you’ll need:Â
A passion for blockchain technology and an insatiable desire to learn. Willingness to move quickly, work in a flat, fast-paced team and juggle competing priorities. Previous experience with managing proof-of-stake blockchain infrastructure, preferably on Solana or Ethereum. A deep understanding of software engineering principles, Linux, Kubernetes, monitoring/alerting (Prometheus/Alertmanager), networking, and experience across both cloud-based and bare-metal infrastructure. Prior experience with a range of orchestration and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, and Salt). Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining complex systems. Familiarity with on-chain trading, DeFi, and risk management is preferred, but not required. High proficiency with bash scripting, and experience in at least one other programming language.
