Orca is expanding into new product verticals, bringing a new class of regulated assets on-chain with the compliance infrastructure and liquidity primitives to make them actually work. Our ambition reaches beyond becoming the leading provider of financial primitives in crypto—we aim to reshape the foundation of finance itself. If you are someone who is tired of just working another job and wants to build something meaningful, then we invite you to join our team.
We are seeking an experienced product leader who deeply understands traditional finance, preferably with DeFi fluency, and is hungry to operate at the intersection of both.
As Head of Product, you will own the full product function at Orca — roadmap, team, and product portfolio. You will report directly to the CEO and serve as a thought partner on product strategy — bringing your own point of view while translating shared vision into execution.
This is a player-coach role. You will manage a team of product managers, designers, and researchers, with a focus on delivering outcomes, not outputs. This job is not for someone who wants to come up with ideas without being hands on.
What You'll Do
-
Partner with the CEO on product strategy — bringing your own point of view, challenging assumptions, and translating shared vision into a clear prioritized roadmap with defined success criteria.
-
Own the portfolio of product initiatives: recommend what gets started, advocate for what gets killed, and manage tradeoffs across product initiatives and future bets.
-
Lead and develop a team of product managers, designers, and UX researchers — with full accountability for team performance, hiring, and coaching your team to help them grow.
-
Set the standard of what good looks like for the product team — from how we run meetings and capture decisions, to how we transfer context across functions — and hold the team to that standard.
-
Drive cross-functional execution alongside Engineering, BD, Design, and Marketing. You’ll define and implement product operating standards, and you're not above getting into the details when it matters.
-
Define, track, and report on product KPIs that tie directly to business objectives — you believe in and champion a data driven culture where what we ship produces measurable business value.
-
Act as the voice of the customer and the market, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative signals into clear product decisions.
What You'll Bring
-
Experience and leadership — 5–10+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years managing teams across product management, design, and research.
-
Proven people manager and leader — you know how to build teams that are healthy and high-functioning, and you set the expectations and collaboration norms that make teams operate well. You know how to coach people for growth and achieve outcomes through the people you lead.
-
Track record of outcomes — you have shipped products that drove significant revenue and/or user growth. You have owned outcomes, not just roadmaps.
-
Deep PM craft — you know how to run structured discovery, validate ideas before building them, write a sharp PRD, and prioritize ruthlessly based on effort versus impact. You move fast, make decisive calls, and thrive without a complete playbook. You can teach these skills, not just practice them.
-
Domain background — background in traditional finance or regulated asset markets is required — ideally in private markets, capital markets, or institutional fintech. DeFi/crypto fluency is preferred but not required — you have a point of view on how TradFi and on-chain infrastructure will converge, you are genuinely excited to build at that intersection, and you are intrinsically motivated and capable of learning fast.
-
Technical depth and AI fluency — you can hold your own in an engineering conversation, understand protocol-level tradeoffs, and earn the respect of a strong engineering team. You actively integrate AI into how you work and have a point of view on what it means for how product teams operate.
What Orca offers
-
Salary: 225,000 - 250,000 USDC (Range for US employees)
-
Token allocation: 175,000 - 200,000 ORCA over 4 years (Range for US employees)
-
Opportunity to learn and develop Solana DeFi.
-
Flexible work schedule.
-
Home office stipend.
-
Wellness stipend.
-
Opportunity to co-work with the team multiple times a year from at different locations around the world, fully covered by Orca.
-
Option to work remotely or from Orca’s office in New York City.
-
Paid subscriptions to GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other tools that make you more productive.
Hiring Process
We like to be transparent and efficient. We move fast, and this process will be short and intense. We believe this process gives candidates the best experience in getting decisions quickly instead of long, drawn out interview rounds that last weeks.
Initial Screen (60 min)
This will be for Isaac, our Chief Operations Officer (COO), to get an understanding of your experiences and test your knowledge of Solana and DeFi. It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about the role and company.
Hiring Manager (60 min)
This round will be with Michael, our CEO. He will see your management >
Panel Interviews (60 min each)
Will (Head of Engineering), Dan Olsen (Advisor), Matias (Head of Product Management), will do a deep dive on Management, Ecosystem, and Product.
