This person will play a leading role in advising and structuring our blockchain technology businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in securities law, regulatory compliance, and investment management, including experience in crypto and blockchain technology. This person should be highly motivated, prepared to work extended hours, and thrive in an entrepreneurial and demanding environment. Key Responsibilities 

Strategy & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with international laws and  crypto laws. Develop 21.co Technologies legal strategy to support rapid growth, mitigate risks, and align with business objectives Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.. Help with other special corporate projects and such other activities as may be assigned.

Crypto &  Blockchain: 

Provide legal oversight on crypto-related activities. Contribute to the development of blockchain-based platforms, tokenized products, and smart contracts development. Address issues related to intellectual property, data privacy, and governance within De-Fi structures. Advise on compliance and regulatory affairs in the blockchain and crypto space. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies.

Contract & Vendor Management  

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including licensing agreements and partnerships. Oversee commercial and corporate governance matters. Manage relationships with external legal advisors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

A commercially minded, passionate, and fully qualified attorney admitted to practice in the US. 5+ years experience practicing law, including demonstrated experience in crypto and blockchain law. Experience in both big law and in-house experience Familiar with performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders. Good knowledge of the wider crypto industry and broader tech industry. Comprehensive understanding of staking, validation, and other De-Fi protocols. Ability to thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Member in good standing of the New York State Bar.

This role is based in New York, and will be expected to work from our New York office in a hybrid model Monday - Wednesday. Pursuant to Section 8-102 of title 8 of the New York City administrative code, the base salary range for this role is $235,000 - $265,000. Total compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
