We are looking for a Big Data Quantitative Scientist to join our market-making team
In this role, you will
- Data Acquisition & Management
- Source, aggregate, and manage large-scale datasets, as well as alternative data sources (e.g., social media, blockchain explorers, economic indicators).
- Ensure data integrity and quality through rigorous validation, cleaning, and normalization processes.
- Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
- Conduct in-depth exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and relationships in market and alternative datasets.
- Visualize complex data to uncover actionable insights and support hypothesis generation.
- Model Development
- Design, implement, and optimize predictive models using statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques for price forecasting, volatility estimation, and anomaly detection.
- Experiment with various model architectures (e.g., ARIMA, LSTM, transformer-based models) and advanced feature engineering.
- Backtesting & Validation
- Develop robust backtesting frameworks to evaluate model performance on historical data.
- Perform out-of-sample testing and cross-validation to ensure model robustness and avoid overfitting.
- Real-Time Analytics & Deployment
- Build and maintain pipelines for real-time data ingestion, model inference, and signal generation.
- Work with engineering and DevOps teams to deploy models into production environments (cloud/on-premises).
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Continuously monitor and analyze model performance, retraining and recalibrating as necessary based on live market data.
- Optimize models for latency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, software engineers, and product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Present findings, model results, and actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Research & Innovation
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML, quantitative finance, and blockchain analytics.
- Propose and prototype innovative approaches to improve predictive accuracy and trading strategies.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Document data sources, modeling decisions, and code for reproducibility and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all processes adhere to data privacy and security standards
Who We Are Looking For
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in big data analytics, preferably in financial markets (forex, crypto, equities, or similar).
- Technical Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), R, or similar languages.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with API integration for real-time data feeds.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Financial Domain Knowledge
- Solid understanding of financial markets, especially forex and cryptocurrencies.
- Knowledge of trading strategies, market microstructure, and risk management.
- Quantitative and Analytical Skills
- Strong foundation in statistics, probability, time-series analysis, and econometrics.
- Experience with feature selection, dimensionality reduction, and model interpretability.
- Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
