The role:

As a PR Manager at IFT, you will be at the forefront of shaping and communicating our portfolio companies' narratives to the public, media, and key stakeholders. This role demands a dynamic individual who understands the complexities of blockchain technology, decentralized finance (DeFi), and the broader Web3 ecosystem. You will leverage your expertise in public relations to enhance brand reputation, increase visibility, and foster trust within communities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support PR activities, including proactive media outreach, media interviews, announcements, award nominations, as well as securing speaking engagements and podcast opportunities for both internal projects and our own internal company spokespeople.
  • Develop and implement PR strategies that align with the goals of the IFT and its startup portfolio that include:
    • Participate in developing messaging - in conjunction with others - that is clear, concise, aligned with organization's principles and values, and persuasive for a variety of mediums.
    • Write a variety of different copy that is informative, inspiring and engaging, tailored to different audiences and mediums.
    • Review and edit copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • ​​Work closely with the marketing team to support announcements.
  • Manage PR agency to achieve agreed deliverables each month
  • Maintain relationships with external publications for paid media.
  • Active media monitoring, analysing and reporting PR coverage and outcomes

You will ideally have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience copywriting in Blockchain/Crypto or Tech domain.
  • Previous PR experience, either traditional, web3 or/and technical PR
  • Experience developing content for various mediums, including website copy, blog posts, email campaigns, and social media.
  • A strong alignment to our principles: https://status.im/about/#our-principles
  • Strong advocacy for Decentralization, Speech and Privacy
  • Experience with political or activist movements
  • Shared values and political ideologies of the cypherpunk movement.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in, and passion for, blockchain technology and an understanding of its potential applications and significance
  • You are comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
  • Experience working for an open source organization
  • Technical writing experience
  • Experience working within a similar organization
