About the Role:
This is a fully remote position located in the United States, reporting to the Transaction Monitoring/Trade Surveillance Manager. The role is primarily responsible for the monitoring, research, and analysis of crypto transactions.
Job Duties:
- Review client transactions, conduct initial analysis, and identify red-flags of suspicious activity that would warrant escalation for further investigation.
- Assist with the identification and escalation of cases related to Fraud and other illicit financial activity
- Use blockchain analytics to conduct blockchain and transaction monitoring analysis.
- Use market surveillance tool to monitor central limit order book and to conduct investigations into market abuse.
- Ensure appropriate action is taken on accounts that have been escalated for investigation and SAR reporting.
- Support the identification and escalation of any issues related to the systems and process used for the monitoring of transactions
- Review monthly and daily transaction alerts, conduct due diligence and open source searches.
- Support ad-hoc investigative projects, engage in the development of procedures, and lead the resolution of issue impacting Transaction monitoring/Trade Surveillance functions as needed
- Work and contribute in a team-oriented and collaborative environment to improve the analytical and reporting processes.
- Keep up-to-date with crypto trends to stay abreast of emerging illicit financial risks
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 1+ years working in fraud, transaction monitoring, trade surveillance or Crypto
- Strong ability to work large amounts of data to identify red flags and make conclusions.
- Basic understanding of crypto ecosystems
- Knowledge of blockchain analytics software (e.g. Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM)
- Familiar with AML anti-money laundering regulations in the U.S. (preferred) or EU, UK, and/or Bermuda
- Ability and passion to work in a fast paced environment, learn new concepts, and adapt quickly.
- Critical thinking with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently
- Strong time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadline
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
- Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.), as well as adhering to company policies and procedures.

- Trade surveillance experience
- Understanding of basic trading strategies (TradFi or Crypto)
