Arda

Who?

We are Arda, a modern full-stack data infrastructure platform for blockchain data.

We are building a set of tools for web2 institutions and web3 companies to access, analyse and act on data and insights.

We are backed by world-class investors including Y Combinator, Tribe Capital, PayPal, Picus Capital & Hashed. Pranay (CEO) and Ram (CTO) are the founders. We have combined experience of 20+ years of building fintech, crypto and tech products for businesses & customers across the world at companies such as Cloud Kitchens, PayPal, TransferWise, and Amazon, among others.

We are looking for data engineers who will help shape the tech, product and culture of the company. We are a pre-product-market fit company, so expect things to move fast (not a cliche) and change directions as we twist and turn to get to P-M fit.

What to expect

We are looking for blockchain engineers who will help shape the tech, product and culture of the company. We are a pre-product-market fit company, so expect things to move fast (not a cliche) and change directions as we twist and turn to get to P-M fit.

We are tech-stack agnostic in terms of the skill sets we are looking for, but the tech stack looks like the below (expect this to change as we scale):

  1. Backend APIs: Typescript + Nest + Jest
  2. Database orchestration: Postgres + Prisma
  3. AWS

You can expect to do some or all of the following:

  1. Read through protocols’ whitepapers and smart contracts to derive metrics and analyse risks
  2. Build clean, concise APIs for serving data and insights, along with the documentation
  3. Setup, run and maintain full archive nodes across different chains
  4. Integrate with multiple partners like exchanges and custody providers
  5. Fool-proof security across the stack - encryption, hashing, privacy, VPC, etc.
  6. Infrastructure as code - build terraform scripts and ensure easy replication of the infra across different regions
  7. Research the top DeFi protocols to uncover better insights for our customers and evaluate their risk profiles, security and historical returns
  8. Manage production deployments, logging and monitoring
  9. We expect you to be fairly comfortable with working with both web3 and web2 stacks. If you only want to write smart contracts, this job is not for you.

Our values

  1. Fully remote
  2. Documentation and transparency: Since we are fully async, we document everything (customer calls, partnership arrangements, design, tasks) and we expect you to do the same. We believe it's the only way to grow.
  3. Continuous 360 feedback: Everyone is expected to share constructive critical feedback with everyone else, including the founders.
  4. Product-minded: Everyone shares the product ownership, so we expect everyone to do customer outreach, support and talk to customers for feedback and new features.
  5. Doers over talkers: We spend time figuring out the right direction to take and then execute intensely. No one is too “senior” to do a job - the CTO will code every day, the CEO will sell every day and everyone takes care of customer support on a schedule. We understand the difference between real work and pretense.
  6. Humanity over everything else: We sell the product to businesses, but in reality, we sell it to real humans on the other side. Our end customers are consumers using the product integrated with our APIs, so we are building the world’s most human-centric company (no pun intended). Kindness is expected and empathy is the core value we’re looking for

About you

  1. You have solid experience in a) working with one or more blockchains and the ability to understand blockchain and smart contract data and event logs, and/or b) building high-scale data pipelines that does both real-time and batch data ingestion and aggregation
  2. If you have spent time with blockchains, we are looking for at-least a year of experience (junior/mid)
  3. If you have data engineering experience, we are looking for 3+ years of experience (mid/senior)
  4. Understand the fundamentals of building and integrating APIs and secure systems.
  5. We do not expect you to know everything on day 1, but you should be a quick learner and have interest in working across the stack including setting up infrastructure, error monitoring systems, etc.
  6. Pay and benefits We offer a solid, competitive package (including early-stage equity) that is location agnostic. We give you the flexibility to choose the split between cash and equity.

About the interview
We reply to every email with the next steps. We will get back to you within 24 hours.

If we are both interested in moving forward, then you will have the following set of discussions (90 minutes each, all remote):

Call with Ram (CTO): Technical interview to understand your experience and interest.
Video call with Pranay (CEO): Values, culture-fit, getting to know more about you and answer your questions about Arda.
We will share a short take-home assignment or ask for samples of your work. If you'd prefer, we can also arrange for a week of fully-paid work with the team for both of us to see if there is a mutual fit
We expect the process to be complete within 1-2 weeks.

Arda focuses on Fin Tech and Blockchain / Cryptocurrency. Their company has offices in Remote. They have a small team that's between 1-10 employees.

You can view their website at https://www.arda.finance/ or find them on LinkedIn.

How do I get a job at DeFi?

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
  4. Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
  5. Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
  6. Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
