Description

Chaos Labs is the first automated, on-chain economic security system enabling crypto protocols to optimize risk management and capital efficiency while safeguarding user funds. We analyze protocol mechanics and scenario implications using world-class custom EVM simulations to provide actionable insights. Our platform is trusted by leading protocols, including Aave, GMX, dYdX, Venus and others, to manage and secure billions of dollars in assets.

We are looking for a Product Designer (UI/UX) to be the first design hire on our team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our product suites. This is an opportunity to own and define the design function from the ground up, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to create intuitive and visually compelling products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity UI design and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent design system, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across all products.
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to translate technical insights into user-friendly experiences.
  • Create intuitive dashboards, data visualizations, and interactions that simplify complex risk and analytics data.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and refine designs based on real user needs.
  • Design and prototype responsive, high-performance interfaces optimized for both web and mobile experiences.
  • Establish and document best practices for UI/UX design, setting the foundation for future design hires.
  • Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to ensure visual consistency across all company touchpoints.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design, preferably in fintech, crypto, or data-heavy applications.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design - from research to execution.
  • Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Experience designing data-rich dashboards, analytics platforms, or financial applications.
  • Ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into intuitive and engaging user experiences.
  • Strong visual design skills, with a keen eye for typography, layout, and component-based design.
  • Comfortable with user research, prototyping, and usability testing.
  • Understanding of front-end development principles - HTML, CSS, basic React knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and define the design culture in a fast-growing team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for DeFi, Web3, and the future of decentralized finance.

This platform is based on blockchain technology and allows for the creation of decentralized applications (dApps) that can be accessed through a web browser

A web3 designer would be responsible for creating the user interface and user experience for these dApps, ensuring that they are easy to use and navigate

They would also be responsible for ensuring that the overall design of the dApps is consistent with the brand and aesthetic of the organization or individual that is building the dApps.
