Asymmetric Research ("AR") is a specialised security firm focused on long-term, integrated partnerships with L1/L2 blockchains and DeFi protocols. We help teams build resilient systems, strengthen security posture, and proactively address emerging threats.

Culture:

AR is a fully remote organization with collaboration spaces in New York City and Zurich, and members of our team have been firmly committed to open-source values for decades, having worked at organizations with deep open-source roots and strong security programs, including Google, Netflix, Mozilla, Stripe, and Jump Crypto. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, trust, and professionalism.

Overview:

Joining a young, dynamic, and rapidly expanding team, you will be instrumental in building our global, distributed organization. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive People Operations Generalist / Junior HR Business Partner to ensure our day-to-day operations run smoothly, are scaling and adapt to the demands of our fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will manage daily operations and provide essential support to employees and contractors worldwide. Another major component of the job is aligning policies and programs across our associated orgs.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities and communicating with diverse stakeholders. You will partner directly with a CEO for operational matters, and have a reporting line to a Head of People for strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to person on the People Team for a global, distributed team

  • Offer foundational advice on employment law and adherence to contractor regulations throughout the employee lifecycle

  • Manage and administer people systems, records, onboarding and offboarding, and benefits for employees and contractors globally

  • Partner with Employer of Records providers to manage local employment and contractor workforce

  • Run our current people programs and launch new ones to make things better for everyone by simplifying operations and improving the experience for both employees and contractors

  • Make sure our policies and programs are consistent and compliant across all orgs

  • Jump in on cross-functional projects where extra help is needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in global People Ops for employees/contractors (US, EMEA) in a startup or fast-paced technology environment, particularly those focused on Web3

  • Able to manage multiple priorities calmly and with good judgement

  • Experience building and connecting programs/policies across different orgs

  • Great written and verbal English communication

  • Super comfortable with tech tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack)

Benefits:

  • 25-days paid vacation

  • Office and equipment, wellness, and professional development stipends

  • Pension / 401K programs

  • Life Insurance

  • Premium Healthcare

  • Competitive Base Salary

How do I start a Web3 career?

If you're interested in starting a career in Web3, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. First, it's important to gain a solid understanding of the underlying technologies that make up the Web3 ecosystem, such as blockchain, cryptography, and decentralized networks. You can do this by reading books and articles, taking online courses, or attending workshops and conferences.
  2. Next, you'll want to build a portfolio of projects that showcase your skills and knowledge. This can include creating dApps (decentralized applications) using blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, contributing to open-source projects, or writing articles and tutorials on Web3-related topics.
  3. Networking is also an important part of any career, and the Web3 space is no exception. Attend meetups and conferences, join online communities, and make connections with other professionals in the field. This can help you learn from others, share your own expertise, and potentially find job opportunities.
  4. Finally, consider getting certified in Web3 technologies. There are several organizations that offer certification programs, which can help demonstrate your proficiency and set you apart from other candidates in the job market.
