About us:
Orb is part of the Balancer ecosystem and a service provider to the Balancer Foundation. Balancer is an open-source DeFi protocol built on the Ethereum network (incl. L2s - Arbitrum, Optimism, & Polygon). More specifically Balancer is a base layer AMM (Automated Market Maker) and DEX (Decentralized Exchange). Built on the Ethereum blockchain, Balancer offers new solutions to the problems of traditional and centralized exchanges. Developers leverage Balancer as a permissionless building block to innovate freely and create new treasury management systems. Balancer's mission is to become the primary source of programmable liquidity.
The Role:
Balancer's power is its flexibility, and we envision a world in which the most compelling applications of Balancer technology are built by third parties rather than internal teams. Providing expert advice and assistance to external developers is crucial to incubate a broad ecosystem of applications built on Balancer. We're looking for someone to join the Integrations Engineering Team as we assist and directly collaborate with developers building on our platform.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 1+ years of experience with Solidity preferred
- Experience in highly constrained domains, such as smart contracts or embedded systems, preferred
- Excellent technical communication skills, especially the ability to distill complexity
- Experienced problem solver with a knack for figuring out how things can break
- Solid overview of the DeFi landscape and protocols like Balancer, Aave, Compound, Uniswap, Yearn, etc
- Basic understanding of the Balancer protocol, especially the benefits of V2's modular architecture (solid understanding is a big plus)
- Support Balancer's key partners with their integrations by writing and reviewing smart contracts, outlining best practices, and answering technical questions
- Brainstorm and ideate solutions to challenging problems
- Fill observed gaps in the developer toolchain
- Develop systems that improve Balancer's usability
