Who we need

The Head of Infrastructure will be responsible for the overall management and prosperity of our technology infrastructure, including server architecture, hosting, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive infrastructure strategy to support the company's growth and expansion plans
• Manage and lead the infrastructure team, including hiring, training, mentoring team members and building best practices
• Monitor and manage the infrastructure budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Identify and recommend improvements to the infrastructure to enhance performance, scalability, and security, as well as associated monitoring, logging, reporting and alerting
• Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers
• Develop and regularly update disaster recovery, running infrastructure maintenance and operational policies
• Manage team and processes to ensure reliable 24x7 delivery of our internal and external services

Requirements

• At least 5 years of solid experience in orchestrating infrastructure, with a proven track record of team management capabilities
• Deep knowledge of managing massive infrastructure systems, including redundancy, failovers, monitoring, real-time alerts as well as hardening and security
• Fluent in GNU/Linux command line, containerization, virtualization, and orchestration
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience managing 24x7 infrastructure operational support
• Problem-solving attitude and service mentality

Bonus points

• You are passionate about web3 and decentralized systems
• You have run decentralized or federated infrastructure, such as a Bitcoin, Matrix, or Mastodon clusters before
