The engineering team at Chainalysis is inspired by solving the hardest technical challenges and creating products that build trust in cryptocurrencies. We’re a global organization with teams in Denmark, UK, Canada, Israel, and the USA who thrive on the challenging work we do and doing it with other exceptionally talented teammates. Our industry changes every day and our job is to create user facing products supported by a flexible and scalable data platform allowing us to adapt to those rapid changes and bring value to our customers.
The Compliance organization is focused on growing the crypto ecosystem by simplifying the work needed for compliance and risk management at a massive scale. The next stage of growth for our Compliance platform comes from the largest banks and payment processors in the world who will require the highest level of compliance, security, and reliability. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to embed directly within our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will champion self-service infrastructure, moving away from the model of a "sole owner" to one of shared responsibility.
Operating at the intersection of software development, infrastructure, and reliability, you will act as a force multiplier for the squad. You will partner with engineering teams to co-design and modernize our toolchain, focusing on expediting feature delivery while simultaneously fortifying our systems to adhere to the exacting standards required by our new institutional clientele. You will also galvanize deeper collaboration between Platform and Product engineering teams
In this role, you’ll:
Empower the teams to own their release quality and build the tooling, automation, and guardrails that allow product engineers to manage their own CI/CD pipelines and deploy to production independently.
Codify the standards for a TradFi-ready foundation. Working collaboratively with the team, you defined and implemented the Infrastructure-as-Code patterns that meet our rigorous security and compliance needs.
Ensure that compliant, secure-by-default infrastructure is easy for developers to provision, preventing you from becoming a bottleneck.
Embed a culture of proactive reliability. You helped the team define their own Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and actionable alerts, by establishing clear observability standards, and give developers the visibility they need to own the health of their services and detect issues before our customers do.
Successfully level up the team to be self-sufficient in debugging pipelines and managing basic infrastructure.
We’re looking for candidates who have:
A strategic blend of DevOps, Infrastructure, and SRE principles to set architectural patterns, guiding the team on how to build systems that balance velocity with reliability.
Experience steering technical modernizations, helping teams migrate from legacy systems to modern standards (such as Kubernetes, IaC, and Github Actions) while maintaining product momentum.
Thrive in an embedded model, enabling your squad to unblock themselves through better tooling and education while acting as a strategic bridge to the central Platform team.
An understanding of the rigor of FinTech or Enterprise SaaS, knowing how to design system constraints for institutional clients where reliability is a contractual obligation.
Foster a culture of shared ownership, preferring to coach engineers on operational best practices rather than functioning as a permanent support desk.
Technologies we work with:
Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Terraform, AWS, Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL

What does a Java developer in web3 do?
A Java developer in web3 would likely be focused on developing applications that use the Java programming language in the context of the web3 technology stack
Web3 is a collective term used to refer to the next generation of decentralized, blockchain-based technologies that are aimed at creating a more open and secure internet
In this context, a Java developer would be responsible for writing code that interacts with web3 technologies, such as decentralized applications (DApps) and smart contracts, to create new tools and services that run on the blockchain
This could involve working with cutting-edge technologies such as Ethereum, which is a popular blockchain platform that uses the Java programming language, as well as other web3 technologies and frameworks.
