TON Foundation is a non-profit organization which supports the growth of TON Blockchain and its ecosystem. Founded in Switzerland in 2023 and backed by a global community, the Foundation funds and empowers developers, creators, and businesses through grants, technical resources, and strategic partnerships. It supports protocol development and ecosystem expansion but holds no authority over TON itself. The Open Network (TON) runs on decentralized, open-source software, welcoming contributions from all and remaining independent of central control.

We are looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to empower developers in the TON ecosystem by creating high-quality educational content, building practical demos, and fostering an engaged developer community across global and CIS markets.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality demos, dApps, Telegram Mini Apps, and reusable examples/templates that showcase current and new TON capabilities.

  • Maintain and ship updates to GitHub sources (examples/templates, version pins, changelogs, and release notes) in sync with product and SDK/tooling releases.
Publish developer enablement content (documentation, tutorials, blog posts, short videos, and reference guides) that turns complex topics into clear, runnable steps.
Deliver hands-on developer programming (live workshops, office hours, bootcamps, meetups, and hackathons) and provide accurate, empathetic support in Telegram and other community channels.

  • Gather developer feedback, distill it into crisp issues/PRs, and partner with Engineering/Product to improve SDKs, tooling, docs, and overall developer experience.

  • Own and improve developer documentation quality by identifying gaps, proposing and implementing doc updates (or PRs), and ensuring docs stay accurate, discoverable, and aligned with SDK/tooling changes and releases.

  • Support promising grant applicants from screening through launch in collaboration with Engineering, Ecosystem, Partnerships, and Marketing.

  • Represent TON externally by speaking at conferences, roadshows, and ecosystem events globally.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience (e.g., Rust, Java, Python, TypeScript; other languages welcome), with confidence building full-stack demos, CLIs, or SDK integrations.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills; able to produce step-by-step, runnable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to own DevRel projects end-to-end, from planning and execution to measurement and reporting.

  • Prior Web3 experience is a plus; genuine interest and a fast-learning mindset are essential.

  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Ecosystem, Partnerships, and Marketing.

  • Willing to travel globally ~30% of the time.

What does a Java developer in web3 do?

A Java developer in web3 would likely be focused on developing applications that use the Java programming language in the context of the web3 technology stack

Web3 is a collective term used to refer to the next generation of decentralized, blockchain-based technologies that are aimed at creating a more open and secure internet

In this context, a Java developer would be responsible for writing code that interacts with web3 technologies, such as decentralized applications (DApps) and smart contracts, to create new tools and services that run on the blockchain

This could involve working with cutting-edge technologies such as Ethereum, which is a popular blockchain platform that uses the Java programming language, as well as other web3 technologies and frameworks.
