Apply for this job
Our metaverse group helps our partners realise their metaverse ambitions. The team’s expertise encompasses creative (concept and design), production (art and content), engineering (game development and Web3) and operations (dev and live).

At Improbable, you’ll collaborate with some of the best in the industry. Together, you’ll create unique, tailored experiences that stretch the boundaries of what’s possible in digital spaces and virtual worlds – and help define what the metaverse can be.

Your Opportunity:

    • Execute functional correctness for a feature/product that interacts with other systems/products and may not have a clear definition of scope.
    • Help define quality metrics and implement measurements/processes to determine test effectiveness, testing efficiency, and measure the overall quality of the product.
    • Serve as the QA and testing expert, providing advice to cross-functional teams.
    • Define quality practices to address shortcomings, emphasising early testing in development processes.
    • Own the quality strategy of large projects or multiple smaller ones, identify potential risks to a project, and not hesitate to communicate the need for assistance if impeded.
    • Debug complex problems across multiple systems and/or teams, suggest improvements to ensure timely delivery.
    • Independently (with minimal guidance) ensure many aspects of QA and testing of a game/metaverse experience (e.g., Performance, Networking, Art Assets, Environments, Multiplayer, Economy, Progression, Certification, etc.)
    • Develop, maintain, or contribute to automated testing for efficient and effective testing processes.

Why you're made for this:

    • Working across multiple, fast-paced and complex projects.
    • Experience of working within the gaming and metaverse industry using tools like Unity, Unreal Engine etc.
    • Experience and knowledge of  scripting languages (i.e., JavaScript, Python, C#).
    • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
    • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and practices.
    • Experience in quality assurance, with a focus on leading and managing QA teams.
    • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team.

This role is available as remote, hybrid or in-office. We have a great office space in Spitalfields in London but are equally happy if you'd prefer to work from home some, or all of the time. We are 'Flexa' certified, meaning our entire employee experience is anchored around flexibility and autonomy.

While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply.
