Paradigm is a San Francisco-based investment firm focused on crypto and blockchain-related technologies across the globe.  We make investments in companies and protocols at all stages, ranging from early-stage venture financing rounds to growth equity to liquid token assets.  Paradigm was co-founded in 2018 by Matt Huang (former partner at Sequoia Capital) and Fred Ehrsam (co-founder of Coinbase), and since then we’ve been hard at work building a world-class team to support our portfolio and the crypto ecosystem globally, with the broader goal of accelerating crypto’s ability to improve people’s lives worldwide.

At Paradigm, we believe that crypto will redefine money, finance, and the internet itself. This technological revolution will have a fundamental and long-lasting impact on the global economy.

Many of the companies in our portfolio (like Yield, Gauntlet and Zora) have already built enormously impactful products, but in terms of resource allocation, adding a full-time recruiter may not make sense for them just yet.  We’re looking to support them as they scale with a Paradigm-internal recruiter who would work with founding CEOs, CTO and COOs to make critical hires across the portfolio.

This is a unique role - it offers the opportunity to combine the crucible of early-stage startup recruiting with the ability to affect the flow of talent across an entire industry.  As such, we’re not just looking for any recruiter.  This person should be able to identify world-class engineers and operators and help them navigate an interview process - but they should also be able to coach hiring managers toward team construction decisions that will serve them when their company is 3x its present size.  In short, this person will build foundational teams that will compete with the Stripes and Squares of the world in the years to come.

It’s not at all a requirement that this person be a crypto-native today - but they will need to have a tremendous appetite to learn quickly about the industry and its ongoing impact on everything from finance to politics to energy to entertainment.  In short, they should have a burning curiosity about the future :).

This person would report to Dan McCarthy, Paradigm’s talent partner.
