As we prepare for growth with our seed round, backed by industry leaders, our team—led by co-founders with PhDs in AI, Math, and Computer Science—is poised to redefine computing.

Responsibilities:

• Familiarize yourself with an existing Postgres RDS database and current database architecture

• Review and understand existing Python and Go codebases

• Optimize queries and improve database performance and efficiency

• Implement and manage database schema improvements, including tooling and processes

• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

• Monitor database performance, identifying bottlenecks and providing recommendations for improvements

• Handle ad-hoc data queries and data analysis requests as needed

• Provide documentation for database-related processes and best practices

Requirements:

• Expert understanding of SQL and Postgres

• Deep understanding of AWS RDS

• Strong query optimization skills

• Strong understanding of database maintenance tasks including migrations, performance monitoring, backup & recovery

• Strong understanding of database security and best practices

• Familiarity with common ORMs, particularly in Python, Go, and/or JS

• Has worked with data at scale

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with data visualization tools

• Familiarity with solutions other than AWS

• Data science skills (data warehousing, pipeline management)

This role will involve:

• Familiarization with an existing Postgres RDS database, Python and Go codebases

• Working with a small team of engineers to provide support, advice, feedback and guidance as it relates to database interaction

• Implementation of improvements to schema management (tooling and processes)

• Optimization of queries

• Completion of ad-hoc requests to query and analyze data
