About Polygon Labs

Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the AggLayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the AggLayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon Miden, which is in development as well as Polygon CDK.

We are looking for a Web3 Governance Project Manager to guide and evolve our governance processes, as well as drive communication, education and community building efforts.

You will play a key role in facilitating 3 pillars of Polygon Governance and help manage their entire lifecycle from conception to implementation.

We’re excited to talk to candidates with experience in the following backgrounds:

  • Managed or played a meaningful role in governance, community or operations for another decentralized network

  • Facilitated complex changes across a versatile base of stakeholders as a technical product or project manager

Your Role

  • Ensure a clean and clear operational flow based on set expectations of progressive decentralization with the Polygon community.

  • Provide initiatives to evolve the governance process with a thoughtful balance of efficiency, accountability, security and decentralization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be the driver of new and existing governance processes.

  • Work closely with Polygon Labs engineering, business and communications teams to align and educate all affected stakeholders on proposals’ implications and increase community participation in Governance discussion.

  • Remove roadblocks, resolve ambiguity, and provide frequent, clear communication throughout a proposal’s lifecycle, while working with community stakeholders.

What you’ll need

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. You deliver messages clearly and concisely.

  • Deep roots within the web3 community, having played a role in communities across the space. You know what makes people tick and can leverage it to drive engagement.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Your default is to proactively share information and solutions with the team, rather than wait to be asked.

  • Deep comprehension of existing decentralized infrastructure governance models. You have designed, implemented or overseen governance operations for a decentralized network.

  • Familiarity with corporate governance, and critical thinking around decentralized networks, security and economics.

  • Excellent project or operational management with a bias towards action. You’re adept at building and managing a process and have experience writing technical or process-based design documents. At any given moment, you know the status of anything within your operational flow and have built user-friendly dashboards or flowcharts to serve a larger audience.

  • You’re experienced in managing environments with multi-stakeholder interests and are not afraid of changing product requirements.

  • You’re a technical person or aren’t scared of complex designs. You are comfortable distilling complex concepts down to simple, digestible explanations.
