Common Prefix is a blockchain R&D company with the mission to solve the foundational scientific and engineering challenges that stand in the way of mainstream adoption, particularly in interoperability, scalability, and usability. 

We combine formal scientific research with production-grade engineering. We have contributed to Axelar, XRP Ledger, Ethereum Foundation, Sui, Flashbots, and elsewhere, and are trusted partners to protocols building critical infrastructure.

We're hiring a full-time Head of Product. You will own the product function end-to-end: deciding what we build, who we build it for, and how we know it is working. You will work closely with our scientists, engineers, and BD team to turn deep research into products people actually want to use.

What you'll do

• Own the product roadmap 
  • Decide what we build next and why, in collaboration with the senior leadership
  • Write clear specs that capture the problem, the user, and the success criteria
  • Cut scope ruthlessly to ship faster and learn sooner
• Design the user experience 
  • Map out user flows for complex on-chain interactions and make them feel simple
  • Work with designers and engineers to turn flows into shipped product
  • Build opinionated taste into every screen, transaction, and error state
• Run experiments and measure what matters 
  • Define the metrics that tell us whether a product is working
  • Instrument products properly and set up dashboards the whole team can read
  • Design and run A/B tests where the traffic supports it, and qualitative experiments where it does not
  • Treat the roadmap as a series of hypotheses to validate or kill
• Stay close to the market 
  • Use the products our partners, competitors, and the rest of the ecosystem ship, every day
  • Know the major protocols, wallets, aggregators, and frontends, and the people building them
  • Track what users are actually doing on-chain and translate that into product opportunities
• Talk to users constantly 
  • Run user interviews with developers, integrators, and end users of our infrastructure
  • Sit in on partner calls with BD to hear pain points first-hand
  • Bring the user voice into every product decision

What we're looking for

• Shipped products to real users in crypto, DeFi, or web3, with metrics you can point to
• Deep, current knowledge of the blockchain ecosystem and the products people actually use
• Strong UX sense, with examples of flows or products you designed (UI design skills welcome, not required)
• Hands-on experience with product analytics, A/B testing, and lean startup style experimentation
• Comfortable spending money to test a market, and equally comfortable killing a product when the data says so
• Stellar written and oral communication, in English
• High agency, low ego, biased toward shipping
