# Who we are

UnitedMasters is building a marketplace that connects artists, brands and fans - empowering artists to earn and grow. UnitedMasters has taken the bold step of building a music distribution service that, radically, puts artists first - disrupting the legacy music business by letting up-and-coming artists distribute their music directly to fans through streaming services while maintaining ownership of their master recording rights and up to 100% of royalties. Through the combination of UnitedMasters’ music distribution platform and its deep ties to brands, UnitedMasters enables independent artists and changemakers to grow and earn unlike any other platform.

The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).

# What's the role

UnitedMasters is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our team focused Web3 efforts. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Product Management, you will be responsible for developing prototyping and launching products that leverage web3 technologies to disrupt the music industry and help independent artists earn in new ways. You will be part of a cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, community managers and operators.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with a cross-functional team to understand how emerging technologies and marketplaces can serve the needs of independent artists and creators.
  • Leverage your full-stack development skills to develop and test prototypes with small groups of artists on the UnitedMasters platform.
  • Turn successful prototypes into scalable and reliable software systems that service UnitedMasters users and the broader music ecosystem.
  • Research emerging technologies in the web3 space and act as a representative of UnitedMasters in the web3 community.

# Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years experience building scalable consumer applications. Experience building blockchain and web3 products desired but not required (strong interest is a must).
  • Hands on experience with modern frontend and backend technologies and frameworks (React, Python, Django, Flask, AWS, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience building software products from scratch. You’ve built UIs, APIs, set up databases, and implemented deployment frameworks.
  • Strong product mindset and can build iteratively with minimal written requirements. You can put yourself in the user’s shoes, crafting experiences that are fun and easy to use.

What does a React developer in web3 do?

A React developer in the context of web3 is a developer who is using the React JavaScript library to build user interfaces for decentralized applications (dApps) that run on the Ethereum blockchain

These dApps often use smart contracts to facilitate transactions and other interactions on the Ethereum network

Overall, the role of a React developer in web3 involves using your skills in React development to help build cutting-edge decentralized applications that leverage the power of the Ethereum blockchain

As a React developer in web3, some of your responsibilities might include:

  • Integrating the dApp with the Ethereum blockchain. This might involve using tools like web3.js and Ethers.js to connect to the Ethereum network and interact with smart contracts.
  • Building the user interface for a dApp using React. This could involve creating components for the various elements of the dApp, such as buttons, forms, and other input elements.
  • Implementing features that are specific to decentralized applications, such as handling cryptocurrency transactions and displaying data from the blockchain in a user-friendly way.
  • Collaborating with other members of the development team, such as blockchain engineers and designers, to ensure that the dApp functions properly and meets the needs of the end users.
