Filecoin Foundation (FF) is an independent organization that facilitates governance of the Filecoin network, funds critical development projects, supports the growth of the Filecoin ecosystem, and advocates for Filecoin and the decentralized web. In 2017, the creators of Filecoin envisioned that an independent Filecoin Foundation would serve as the long-term governance body for the Filecoin Ecosystem. They gave the Foundation the mandate to “grow an open ecosystem for decentralized storage” and to “give developers an open and sustainable platform to build, enhance and monetize those services.” They wanted the Foundation to be modeled on Foundations for other open source projects like the Apache Software Foundation, the Mozilla Foundation and the Linux Foundation. The Filecoin Foundation operates independently of Protocol Labs, the organization that designed and built the Filecoin network. As a member of our early-stage team, you will have the opportunity to help define our growth as the organization scales. This is a full-time position, remote from anywhere in the world.
Job Description
Filecoin Foundation is looking for an established professional who can support the financial, administrative, and clerical needs of the organization. As Accounts Payable Specialist, you will have a daily, ongoing impact on our financial transactions by keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. You will process, track, and record payments as well as process, verify, and reconcile invoices in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Organization and a keen eye for detail will be the key to success in the role and the ideal candidate will have these skills along with an analytical mindset. Responsibilities
- Find ways to improve payment systems
- Remit, track, and record payments as well as process, verify, and reconcile invoices
- Assess invoices comparable to project, department, and company forecasts
- Maintain meticulous records; retain receipts of transactions and file invoice documents appropriately
- Reconcile transactions and correct any discrepancies; ensure the accuracy of Filecoin Foundation’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes
- Manage and maintain payroll and employee incentives
- Collect appropriate tax forms from clients for internal records and filing
- Miscellaneous interfacing with clients for troubleshooting, expectation setting, and clarification
Your Profile
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting roles
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business studies desired
- Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with an analytical approach
- Flexible and adaptable, able to seamlessly switch gears when needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong data entry and management skills
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly
- Comfort with remote, internationally-distributed teams
- Passion for the decentralized web and information access
