Full-Time Full-Stack Software Engineer Culldron – Remote
About Culldron
Culldron is an early-stage media-tech startup on a mission to rebuild public trust in news. We’re creating a crowdsourced platform where every story is time-stamped, location-anchored, and cryptographically verifiable on-chain. Readers can trace every claim back to the original source and contributors can truly “own” their insights.
The Role
You’ll own the full web and mobile stack—from pixel-perfect UIs to performant, secure back-end services—and play a founding-team role in technical decisions, culture, and future hiring. Expect to:
- Design & build Culldron’s v1 web and mobile applications (React/Next.js or similar) and complementary REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Integrate smart-contract interactions (Solidity/Hedera or comparable EVM-compatible chain) for content minting and reputation tokens.
- Implement AI pipelines that ingest user-generated text, run verification/summarization models (OpenAI, LangChain, custom fine-tunes), and surface trustworthy narratives to the feed.
- Architect scalable cloud infrastructure (Azure/GCP/AWS—you’ll help pick) with emphasis on observability, CI/CD, security, and cost discipline.
- Mentor a team of interns, guiding them in best practices while keeping velocity high.
- Collaborate closely with the founder on product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and technical debt trade-offs.
- Set the bar for documentation, testing, and code quality in a green-field codebase.
- 2+ years building production web applications end-to-end.
- Fluency in TypeScript and a modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Svelte, etc.).
- Strong back-end chops in Node.js/Express, Python/FastAPI, or Go; SQL & NoSQL data modeling; and familiarity with event-driven patterns.
- Hands-on experience deploying to a major cloud provider, using containers (Docker/K8s) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Curiosity or experience in Web3 primitives—signing, wallets, on-chain storage, smart contracts.
- Comfort reading research papers / API docs for AI models and shipping quick POCs.
- A bias for shipping, paired with the judgment to know when to refactor.
- Excellent written & verbal communication.
Bonus Points
- Prior work on news, social, mapping, or crowdsourcing products.
- Exposure to Hedera or tokenomics design.
- Startup zero-to-one journey or technical-lead experience.
Why Culldron
- Ownership – Significant equity package and a voice in company direction.
- Impact – Help restore integrity to public discourse at global scale.
- Flexibility – Remote-first culture with future LA in-person office; we care about output, not hours-logged.
- Tooling Budget – Annual stipend for hardware, software, or conferences.
- Growth – Direct mentorship from the founder & advisory board (top VCs, entrepreneurs, newsroom veterans, crypto researchers).
- Mission-Driven Team – Join people who genuinely believe verifiable information is the cornerstone of a healthier society.
Logistics & Compensation
- Start date: ASAP (targeting June / July 2025).
- Comp: $120 k – $140 k base + meaningful equity + benefits. Salary will flex for exceptional candidates.
