We are seeking an experienced Head of web3 Engineering to lead our web3 development team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the web3 space, experience in building and deploying web3 solutions, and a strong background in AWS, Typescript, React, solidity, and smart contract deployment. The person should also be actively involved in current NFT and web3 gaming projects. In addition to this a deep passion for gaming in general, including an understanding and experience of Multiplayer and Social Gaming Environments.

As part of a gaming studio you will need to drive the Web3 aspects of development and deployment, but will also need to integrate and consider the game development side of the production, supporting interfacing from traditional gaming engines, and being involved in how that interface should work well from both sides of the plan. You will report to the CTO and with them will help bridge the gap between the Web3 and Gaming worlds, helping the team forge together as a whole delivering cutting edge games with integrated Web3 functionality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development team to design, develop, and deploy web3 solutions
• Develop and drive the technical vision and strategy for the web3 solutions
• Work within the Studio to help identify and implement best practices for software development, including code quality, testing, and deployment
• Create technical architectures and designs for decentralized applications (dApps) and web3 solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to drive product development
• Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in web3 technology and share the knowledge with the team
• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our AWS infrastructure and web3 applications
• Ensure that our Web3 team is delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet the needs of our customers
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of developers, providing mentorship and guidance to help them grow in their careers
• Help build a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the engineering team and across the organisation

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong experience in blockchain engineering, including experience with Ethereum, Web3, and NFTs, knowledge of ImmutableX would be advantageous
• Experience creating and implementing cloud-based solutions using AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS and others
• Proficient in Typescript, React, solidity, and smart contract deployment
• Familiarity with web3 development frameworks, tools, and libraries such as Hardhat, Forge and wagmi
• Knowledge of web3 security, cryptography, and consensus algorithms
• Experience in leading a team of developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Passion for web3 technology and actively involved in NFT and web3 gaming projects
• Knowledge of Agile Development Practises, including the roles of Scrum master and Product Owner
• Knowledge of Source Control Systems, ideally of Github.
• Knowledge of Testing regimes within the development process, including an understanding of Unit Testing and frameworks.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in web3 development
