About the Opportunity We are building a world-class team of operation professionals who will be embedded partners with the business. We seek a Finance Lead who will drive our financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, and processes at Trust Machines. This would be the first hire in Finance and is critical to the growth of our business. This role crosses all areas of finance: FP&A, Treasury Management, Investment Management, and Investor Relations.

In this role, you will manage company accounts and financials as well as lead with budgeting across teams. We have a highly complex structure across our various entities, and this person will be responsible for unconventional financial structures, tax implications for various investments and joint ventures, and cryptocurrency accounting.

What You’ll Do:

• Advise the executive team members on financial planning, capital budgeting, operating plan budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters
• Take ownership of the operational accounting, tax, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory filings
• Treasury management for both fiat and digital assets, including hot/cold wallet management and transaction approval policy development
  • Implement robust investing strategies as part of a cash-based treasury
  • Provide recommendations for preserving and growing digital asset treasury

• Manage all AR, AP, expense reimbursements, and payroll processes
  • Responsible for global payroll; oversees the work of an external accounting firm that processes company payroll
• Maintain financial models, forecasts, and updates on a monthly basis and partner with our executive team for Investor Updates
• Ensure orderly functioning of liquidity for our products by working with the OTC trading desk to facilitate relationships with trading partners

What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years of experience in trading, strategic finance, banking, structuring, FinTech, or portfolio management roles in traditional financial markets or related fields
• Prior experience in financial reporting and SEC requirements
• Experience in effectively managing a budget of at least $10 million
• Comprehensive knowledge of generating financial models and forecast and monitoring core performance metrics on a monthly basis
• Knowledge of US tax regulations and GAAP
• Experience trading short term interest rate instruments; t-bills, overnight repos backed by treasuries

We’d Also Like to See:

• Solid understanding of crypto: wallets, custodians, DeFi
• Believes in keeping things simple: organizational structures, communication, process, and priorities
• Fundraising experience is a plus
• CPA with 4 years of public accounting experience
