RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will oversee the research organization at dYdX. Research has a wide mandate including:
- Cutting edge research into market structure on a distributed exchange.
- Internal-facing analysis to help the business understand its users and product
- External-facing projects to contribute to the global conversation on protocol design / trading / DeFi evolution
- Educational content to help our audience become more sophisticated traders and users of our product
- You will personally own a broad set of research projects across a wide variety of topics
- Provide advisory services to other parts of the business on analytical / quantitative problems
- Release a regular schedule of research pieces across external platforms
- Collaborate with dYdX partners to enrich the research perspective
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s (or equivalent experience) in math / computer science / physics / statistics or other STEM degree
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Project management, time management, and ability to multitask
- Deep desire to ask questions, understand data, and develop hypotheses
- 3 years working experience in a technical role (developer / analyst / quant / data scientist)
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience in or knowledge of trading (especially HFT), market structure, and derivatives
- 2 years of managerial experience
- Knowledge of and passion for everything in DeFi (especially dYdX!) and web3 with a track record
- Ideally have an existing personal research/content brand
- Experience with our technologies: SQL / Python / Pandas / xarray
