Partner Advocate DeFi

We’ve done the legwork to create a reliable, secure and composable DeFi infrastructure, and are seeking a DeFi native, business development professional. This is a unique opportunity for someone with an interest in joining a growing start-up tech company, where they will play a key role in the development of Agoric's business development efforts with DeFi partners, and the growth of the company overall.

The first dapp to launch on Agoric mainnet is Inter Protocol, the multi-collateral, interchain, community-owned stablecoin system for IST. IST will launch in the Agoric economy and will be available over IBC in Cosmos. The Inter Protocol white paper provides an overview of the system and design. The DeFi Partner Advocate will focus on the adoption and support of IST with partner zones and protocols.

About the role

In this role you are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with other DeFi AMMs, DEXs, and protocols in the Cosmos ecosystem and other networks. The primary focus is on Cosmos zones where DeFi assets in the Agoric environment can be supported in other use cases. While the first asset to be supported for partnerships is IST, it is expected that you will be managing multiple partner initiatives at any given time.

What we look for in you

As a DeFi native you will expertly navigate the process to engage, launch and support an asset in a new protocol or use case. Experience in demonstrating strong execution to deliver valuable products or programs in the market. A successful candidate for this position is someone who understands technology, is a strong communicator with technical and non-technical constituents, has business acumen and a strong sense of accountability. Writing deal memos, structuring partnerships, coordinating amongst internal and external resources and acting as a point person to partners, are all responsibilities for the person in this key position.

What You Will Do

• Develop a DeFi partner network to accelerate partnerships of dapps in the Agoric economy
• Develop and support DeFi use cases for IST within Agoric crypto economy, Cosmos ecosystem and eventually other networks (Ethereum, Polkadot, Solana).
• Advocate for the adoption and support of DeFi assets launched in Agoric with DeFi partner network, including 3rd party developer tokens, governance tokens, and stable tokens
• Develop and maintain partnerships with other decentralized exchanges and protocols for the integration of Agoric tokens including the staking token and stable token.
• Work collaboratively with product and engineering for supporting IST in new environments
• Act as the DeFi expert for Agoric BD team by providing market insights, feedback, and recommending DeFi partner zones to support their asset(s)
• Manage relationships with custody, exchanges and market makers. Specifically on IST as a priority and BLD.

What You Will Bring

• DeFi native
• Expert in DeFi protocols and user behavior
• Personal experience trading in DeFi for at least two years with experience using top Ethereum protocols
• Domain knowledge of Layer 1s, Layer 2s, decentralized exchanges, web3 Infrastructure, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and automated market makers (AMMs)

Minimum Requirements

• Work authorization in the U.S. or Canada
• Undergraduate degree
