Are you interested in helping us change the world of finance and payments forever? The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is looking for a talented investor to join our team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Investments.
In this role, you’ll make strategic investments related to the Stellar Enterprise Fund. The Stellar Enterprise Fund is a venture->
Most importantly, you will be growing the world of blockchain and supporting SDF’s mission of creating equitable access to the global financial system.
In this role, you will:
- Help source, qualify, and close strategic investments that add value to the Stellar ecosystem.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, ecosystem, business development, legal, and marketing teams to help scope product integrations with Stellar.
- Identify and build partnerships with key early stage fintech and crypto investors, accelerators, and startup programs.
- Work closely with bootcamp and accelerator partners in emerging markets to screen startup participants.
- Perform industry deep dives and research on specific sectors, use cases, and geographies.
- Represent the Foundation at select conferences, demo days, and events throughout the world.
You have:
- You have at least 2 years of experience working in the investment industry at an early stage fund or accelerator, ideally with experience in fintech, emerging markets, and/or blockchain.
- You have at least 2 years of experience, preferably in product, business development, or partnership development at an early stage startup in fintech or blockchain.
- You have strong financial modeling skills including the ability to analyze and model company financials.
- You have demonstrated the ability to filter through large quantities of companies or partners to find the best fit.
- You have a strong interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, financial inclusion, and the Stellar network.
- You’re an exceptional writer, enjoy doing research, and have excellent verbal communication skills.
- You’re willing to travel 25% of the time.
- You have a customer-first mentality and have strong founder empathy.
- You have the ability to work independently and excel in an unstructured environment.
- You're intellectually curious, tenacious, and have an unwavering commitment to being successful.
- You don’t shy away from doing the hard thing. You love doing the hard thing.
Bonus points if:
- You have experience working outside of the US and in emerging markets.
- You have an existing network in blockchain or fintech.
- You have worked at an incubator or accelerator before.
