We are seeking a Business Development Director to drive the adoption of blockchain and distributed ledger technology within capital markets institutions. Based in New York, this role will focus on building strategic partnerships with banks, asset managers, and financial market infrastructure providers looking to modernise trading, settlement, and post-trade operations.


You will work closely with senior stakeholders across financial institutions to understand their technology priorities and identify opportunities to implement blockchain solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and operational resilience. This role requires strong expertise in enterprise sales, capital markets workflows, and emerging digital asset infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives focused on blockchain and distributed ledger solutions for capital markets
  • Identify and develop opportunities with banks, asset managers, exchanges, and financial market infrastructure providers
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across trading, operations, technology, and digital asset teams
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand adoption of blockchain-based financial market infrastructure
  • Manage the full enterprise sales lifecycle, from initial engagement and opportunity qualification through to contract negotiation and deal closure
  • Present the companyโ€™s blockchain platform and digital asset capabilities to prospective clients
  • Work with internal teams including solution architects, product specialists, and delivery teams to develop tailored client proposals
  • Participate in and coordinate responses to RFP and RFI processes
  • Lead discussions around digital asset infrastructure, tokenisation, settlement, and post-trade innovation
  • Organise and support product demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept initiatives
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities across capital markets institutions
  • Monitor market developments in blockchain, digital assets, tokenisation, and financial market infrastructure
  • Provide market feedback and insights to support the companyโ€™s product and commercial strategy

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, fintech, blockchain, or capital markets technology
  • Proven experience selling technology solutions to financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of capital markets infrastructure, trading workflows, and post-trade processes
  • Knowledge of blockchain, distributed ledger technology, and digital asset ecosystems
  • Experience engaging with banks, asset managers, exchanges, or clearing houses
  • Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise sales cycles
  • Experience contributing to RFP / RFI processes and client proposals
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities when engaging senior financial services leaders
  • Ability to translate emerging technology concepts into clear business value for financial institutions
