Blockdaemon is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the infrastructure and systems behind our APIs which currently allow users to purchase over 40 cryptocurrencies in over 125 countries. In this role you’ll find yourself partnering directly with the back end and front end engineering teams providing DevOps and infrastructure related solutions. You’ll work closely with other DevOps engineers to maintain existing infrastructure as code and work with the team to provide cloud agnostic solutions for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Employ the best possible infrastructure and systems security standards
  • Design, develop and deliver scalable systems and infrastructure
  • Automate software delivery pipelines for various applications, SDKs and services across multiple teams
  • Collaborate to define best practices and standards for systems and service resilience
  • Collaborate with vendors to streamline integration and rapid onboarding of new technologies
  • Work closely with cross functional teams
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform on call duties
  • Participate in deep architectural or security discussions to ensure solutions are designed for overall success

What We Look For In You

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing and delivering scalable services and architecture
  • Maintain and scale high availability services
  • Strong working knowledge of infrastructure and systems security standards
  • Experience with systems and infrastructure KPIs as well as usage and billing metrics reporting
  • Solid foundation in infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Experience working with AWS cloud technologies
  • Daily use of Git
  • Scripting and lambda development (Javascript, Python, Shell, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Docker
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and backup strategies (PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with key value storage and backups (Redis, DyanmoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting
  • Solid understanding of networking, access control, load balancers, VPNs and proxies
  • Mastery of CI/CD
  • Comfortable working with Linux based server environments
  • Ability to mentor and lead direct reports
