About the Role

We’re looking for a Crypto-Native Social Media & Community Manager to join our Brand & Media team. In this role, you will be responsible for growing and engaging our audience across key social platforms, amplifying editorial and video content, and building The Block’s presence as a leading voice in crypto conversations. This is both a tactical and hands-on role that will require strategic planning, content creation, community interaction, analytics reporting, and real-time trend monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Strategy: Work with key stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive, cross-platform social strategy for The Block.
Brand Awareness: Routinely share highlights from The Block’s research and reporting with major media publications to develop in-house talent.
Content Scheduling: Develop and maintain a content calendar to track upcoming content releases and product announcements.
Audience Growth: Grow high-quality, crypto-interested followers through consistent content, and drive engagement across channels.
Channel Optimization: Repackage and publish editorial, research, and video content across social channels (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) to maximize reach and engagement.
Community Engagement: Cultivate an active, loyal community by responding to comments, hosting live interactions (Spaces, AMAs), and surfacing user-generated content.
Analytics & Performance Reporting: Track engagement metrics and audience growth; compile monthly recaps with insights and recommendations.
Trend Monitoring & Reactive Posting: Stay on top of breaking news, memes, and sentiment in crypto culture to produce timely, relevant posts.
Editorial Feedback Loop: Collaborate with writers and video producers to suggest story formats and growth initiatives that are optimized for social media consumption.
Partnerships & Cross-Promotion: Coordinate giveaways, collabs, and cross-promotions with crypto creators, brands, and events.
Reputation Management: Monitor and respond to misinformation, or sentiment shifts across channels, working with editorial and leadership as needed.
Tools we use: Slack, Adobe CS, Figma, Megaphone, Twitter/X Analytics, YouTube Studio, ChatGPT, Trint, Epidemic Sounds, Dropbox, Riverside

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who has:3+ years of experience in social media and/or community management, preferably in crypto, media, or tech.
Deep understanding of the crypto space and its audiences (Twitter, Discord, Telegram culture).
Proficiency in social content creation including headlines, memes, captions, and short-form video ideation.
Strong communication skills and ability to speak confidently in a brand voice across platforms.
Experience using analytics tools and performance dashboards to inform decisions.
Excellent organization and self-motivation — comfortable in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Bonus if You Have:

Experience working in a global or distributed team.
Familiarity with AI-driven social tools or community loyalty programs.
Background in journalism, editorial, or creative production.
Fluency in more than one language (especially those relevant to global crypto markets).

What Success Looks Like

After 3–6 months in this role, you will have: Designed and implemented a cross-platform social strategy.
Increased social engagement and follower growth across priority platforms. Maintained a consistent publishing cadence and strong brand voice.
Created a performance dashboard and delivered insightful monthly recaps.
Built an active and responsive community presence on at least two platforms.
Collaborated cross-functionally with editorial, research, and partnerships teams.
