Manager for Infra and Platform, you will be leading teams to build and scale one of the most sophisticated and high-throughput distributed systems in the blockchain world. Reliability and high performance at scale are critical to our users, and ultimately the billions of people that will benefit from blockchains. Your work will focus on delivering industry-leading platform infrastructure that ensures low latency, high reliability, and cost efficiency, enabling developers to move fast with confidence. Collaborating with product managers and leadership, you’ll shape backend platform strategy to drive Alchemy’s mission of accelerating Web3 development. What You'll Do:

Lead several teams ranging from Cloud infrastructure to Platform, Data Engineering, and Internal Tooling. Oversee technical and platform strategies that everyone at Alchemy can build upon to deliver exceptional products and services. Stay updated on the bleeding edge of technological and ecosystem advancements to drive technical strategies, keeps Alchemy at the edge of competition; effectively communicate concepts and progress. Enhance execution, mentor the team, and refine processes as the team scales. Provide technical mentorship to ensure high-quality standards. Foster team growth by actively recruiting and hiring top-tier engineers. Influence Alchemy's overall engineering culture through leadership, mentorship, and programs promoting continuous learning and development.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 7+ years of experience in software development, with a preferred focus on distributed systems. 4+ years in engineering management; proven success in building and leading backend teams for critical production infrastructure at a high-growth startup. Expertise in engineering and maintaining large scale distributed systems. Experience with Java, K8s, AWS, multi-region, multi-cloud is strongly preferred. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with the open-source community. Passion for and curiosity around creating innovative solutions that cater to the needs of the next billion users in the blockchain ecosystem. More on The Role Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off. The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $240,000 - $330,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
