As a Senior Engineering Leader at XMTP you will:

Here are outcome areas to consider for a Senior Engineering Lead:

  • Technical Leadership: Act as a check and balance system relative to key architecture decisions and other key technical trade-offs.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, motivate, mentor and empower engineers. Clearly define individual roles and responsibilities, generate engineering buy-in, allocate engineering resources and manage progress as well as overall team happiness.
  • Execution: Create and maintain development processes that ensure high quality products can be delivered against your engineering deadlines and achieve product goals/business priorities. As the team and company scales, identify inefficiencies and implement methods to streamline execution.
  • Customers/Users: Engage and represent the company in a way that will establish credibility and confidence with customers/users.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience as a technology leader with a proven track record of leading Engineering teams, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a broad technical leadership role
• Proven leadership experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role, leading a geographically distributed engineering team
• Able to rapidly identify, communicate, and drive to resolution of issues with multiple teams, leaders, and business stakeholders
• Experience with organizational design and structure for engineering teams with a demonstrate a track record of effectively aligning engineering practices with organizational strategy to deliver business results
Responsibilities
• In this role, you will be responsible for the velocity of the engineering team, the quality of the engineered product, and creating async alignment across a remote and distributed team
• You will hire, scale, and develop a team capable of executing on a protocol strategy for thousands of developers to build on top of
• You will build and foster a culture of engineering excellence and accountability capable of producing best-in-class products with a focus on teamwork, accountability, quality, and velocity
• Structure and lead teams, individuals, and cross-functional relationships in a way that ensures productivity and transparent communication
• Structure, mentor and organize a global team of engineers to align with the strategic objectives of the company and execute the product roadmap efficiently
• To set aggressive but achievable timelines and targets for Engineering deliverables while not sacrificing quality
• Cultivate an effective partnership with our People and Talent Acquisition teams to drive the recruitment, development, and performance of a world-class, globally distributed engineering team
