Badger Technology Capital (BTCapital) is a Multi-Strategy, Tech-First, Systematic Trading Firm in the crypto space. We were born out of Bitso, Latin America's largest exchange with presence in 4 countries. Our current focus is building a low latency algorithmic trading infrastructure for high frequency market making in the crypto markets. As a Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the development of the algorithmic trading infrastructure of BTCapital.

Who You Are

  • At least 8 years of experience in Software Engineering,
  • At least 2 years of experience in Engineering Leadership roles managing teams,
  • Experience working in the crypto/financial market building low latency trading and market making infrastructure, including exchange/banking integrations,
  • Very good knowledge of Python 3, asyncio, typing and overall Python tooling and environment,
  • Familiarity with modern deployment and monitoring stacks (AWS: EC2, ECS; Docker, GitHub Workflows, ELK Stack, etc.),
  • Familiarity and understanding of the trade-offs offered by various database and storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL, AWS S3, ElasticSearch, etc.),
  • Familiarity with low latency messaging solutions (ZMQ, Aeron, etc.),
  • Very good knowledge and experience with software testing,
  • Knowledge of systems design and software architecture principles (Reactive Systems, Event Sourcing, OO Design, Domain Driven Design, etc.),
  • Good understanding and ability to optimize the qualities of the software which most affect latency (Sync/Async IO, Threading, Data Structures, Algorithm Complexity, etc.),
  • Track record of delivering production software at scale,
  • Very good understanding of consuming REST and Websocket APIs, experience of implementing and maintaining integrations,
  • Understanding or willingness to learn complex financial topics,
  • Excellent self-motivation and self-discipline combined with the ability to rapidly iterate software, debug issues, implement optimisations,
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for the entire technology side of our business:

  • Translating financial/quant requirements into technical roadmap; working closely with Quantitative Traders on prioritizing the roadmap and owning it,
  • Being responsible for the entire architecture of the low-latency software trading infrastructure,
  • Enabling rapid iteration and testing of trading ideas within the software, while maintaining high quality and robustness,
  • Being hands-on: developing, testing, deploying and maintaining the software; establishing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure,
  • Being responsible for the standards of the entire software development life cycle (development, technology choice, testing, code review, deployment, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, observability, 24/7 trading operations, incident resolution), creating and setting the standards in the team,
  • Communicating (and documenting when necessary) important engineering matters (decisions, designs, achievements, incidents, etc.) with all relevant stakeholders,
  • Leading a team of Senior Quantitative Developers, maintaining high productivity and excellent engineering standards,

You will work in a small remote team, which strives to rapidly iterate trading and software ideas in a collaborative way in order to generate profit, while maintaining high quality of our software.
